  1. Past hour
  2. If we do end up trading Power, I still maintain that we will regret having done so in 2-3 years.
  3. Getting better goaltending is the most important issue for me. I’m just so unsure about our goaltending group????
  4. I would say no to such a deal. I suspect that most of the crowd here would say yes to such a deal.
  5. Yep. See ya Owen and Jiri.
  6. Honestly laying it out like this makes me sad. I’m relying more on Kesselring and Doan to change the culture here. I’m not confident that’s anywhere near enough. They still need to remove the cowards and bring in players with daddy issues. I want guys with an axe to grind and enjoy senseless violence.
  7. If Robertson gets traded to the Sabres, we will likely be giving up at least two of our best young players to get him. There is no free lunch in this marketplace.
  8. They’ve done a better job the last 3 drafts. We still haven’t seen any of the fruits of that labor. Which is typical for mid level prospects. I suspect we’ll start seeing them next season if we aren’t counting the height challenged but plays big and aggressive Benson.
  9. The issue isn’t whether the roster is the same or not (it isn’t). The issue is whether the players, collectively, play better. Will players like Benson, Quinn, Kulich, Power, Samuelson and UPL be better this season? Can’t say for sure but am Inclined to think so. You seem to be more pessimistic than I am. We’ll just have to wait and see when the season starts. What I’m not going to do is have a hardened viewpoint before the season starts, let alone before the preseason games begin.
  10. Today
  11. This all just sounds like looking for something to complain about. Why do players have to play with different players to shine? If someone practices above expectations he’ll get noticed and given a chance. Besides, since the advent of contract guarantees and the salary cap, a well informed person can accurately predict 99% of any professional team’s opening day roster before training cap starts.
  12. I believe we're one excellent forward/center away from having a legitimate roster, that's not only playoff bound but we could contend. That's without losing one via trade to acquire it.
  13. QUINN QUINN QUINN! Just kidding around - I hear ya ... he has a LOT to prove.
  14. With the $$ difference between benson and Robertson this isn’t crazy. We’re pretty tight against the cap (before any Tuch extension although that prob doesn’t hit the cap to 206/2027). We’d have to shed quite a bit of salary to take him on And we seriously weaken our d then. We don’t want Samuelson on the 2nd pair
  15. Adams has been saying the "harder to play against" mantra and Kesselring and Doan are harder to play against guys but overall the prospect cupboard is not hard to play against and the current team isn't either. It's easy to say but I doubt we see it any time soon.
  16. Well sure you can say that and you're being overly specific. The basic combinations laid out are the same. Ruff played Norris with Thompson for what was it 2 games, 3? I forget. Whatever few seconds he was healthy or able to play on arrival. Benson is in Peterka's spot. It's all exactly the same.
  17. Well I hope they are moving people around and actually have open minds. It would be nice if someone unexpected jumped up and made a decision or two difficult. I think the Norris Thompson pairing has always been their idea. It's what Ruff looked at for the brief moment Norris played. I don't want to hear anything about Quinn until Quinn shows something on the ice.
  18. According to doctor google, the longest recorded survival post-heart transplant is 32.9 years. That’s a bit of a shocking number when you realize we’re talking about a 20-something year old. However you want to define quality of life, this poor girl has just taken a huge hit to her life expectancy.
  19. It would be nice to see this in a Sabres uniform.
  20. As a founding member of the Otto Velez fan club when the Jays first came into being, I congratulate them on their fine season. But I hope my Yankees kick the ever lovin’ crap out of ‘em should they get the chance. If not and the Yankees get eliminated before then, I’d be happy to see the Jays bring a ship back to my Canadian brethren. But only if my Yankees don’t get that chance to kick the ever lovin’ crap out of ‘em.
  21. Fine. Apologies for entering this thread. 🍺
  22. My Yankee fandom goes back to the mid-60's and the end of the Mantle era. I loved the mid 70's teams and the Billy Martin- Reggie Jackson era. I'm stuck with them as a fan but I do agree that this version of the Yankees is not very likable. Baseball in general is no longer a big thing for me.
  23. Me, too. But I prefer it in the form of looking the opponent in the eye and tossing him instead of a cheap blind shot to the legs.
