  1. Past hour
  2. Wow... about two years to late. Hopefully they can turn this into a respectable season. I am surprised they didn't promote ka.
  3. With Kekalainen out of country and no press conference until tomorrow morning, how much is there really to say at this moment?
  4. I think he admitted it when he said that players wouldn’t come because of Palm trees and Taxes. He should have been fired on the spot for that comment.
  5. I get what you're saying, but one team is relevant the other one.... as far away from relevant as imaginable.
  6. I recognize this is a matter of personal opinion, but if one is in over their head and knows it, are they obligated at some point to admit it for the sake of greater good? If so, and they do not admit it, what do we call that person?
  7. Kevyn is a decent guy. Being tasked with giving an opinion of what others are doing in your organization and making recommendations is no different than the job consultants do all the time. It’s not like he eavesdropped on conversations and/or wore disguises to get people to talk to him. He was in over his head and made some unfortunate statements but I would disagree with the term “weasel.”
  8. Terry calling Kevyn a "reliable presence" is just killing me - that is freakin' hilarious. "Most Reliable Presence" award goes to... Kevyn!
  9. Deboer isn’t gonna take the Sabres job, that I highly doubt. I am fine with A GM who’s had some success albeit a little bit, over KA. Lets hope he has free reign and makes some much needed bold moves.
  10. I think firing the GM helps with retention of older players. They can at least see that the organization has realized that what they have isn't good enough and that a change was necessary. It gives at least some appearance that the owner sees what's going on, cares, and believes that a new/different direction is needed.
  11. Who is Jarmo Kekäläinen? https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/1244012/2019/10/01/the-journey-to-understand-jarmo-kekalainen-begins-in-finland-columbus-blue-jackets/
  12. Kevyn Adams got the gm job by being buddy buddy with Terry and agreeing to fire all the ppl Botteril refused to fire.
  13. Adams went on the team road trip to scout it out (just like they've done with Jarmo as senior advisor this season), and while his first order of business as GM was to fire AHL coaches and scouts and lean down the costs for EEE, his main focus after hire were: youth movement, no blockers, and the current core of Eichel/Reinhart (the fruit of the tank) weren't worth building around as elite talent. Then, once Eichel said, "I don't like that idea, I'm already well into my contract..." the new mantra was players who "want to be here." But players want to win. Adams immediately put this franchise four years back in their progression. He was a phantom menace who staged a coup to gain his power which he was unqualified for -- and didn't get help either, because EEE. He made his own bed. He should never have been hired and he should have been canned 48 hours after he fired everybody because his task was complete.
  14. Why would you say that? Who doesn't want to be forced to watch the Discover Card commercial with Stiffler's mom 17 times?
  15. Is the next shoe to drop Peter DeBoer in, Lindy Ruff out?
  16. On this particular issue he was right. You don’t need to be an expert to make a judgment on the GM issue.
  17. Tip of the spear seems so appropriate given the frustration level of the fans.
  18. I'm setting up tent just outside this tent. JK has to be just the tip of the spear.
  19. Like what has he done!? In the immortal words of Paul ‘Bone’ Hamilton: I DONT HAVE A CLUE!
  20. The story was he was on a spying mission essentially to tell Terry what Botteril and the rest of the org was up to, was advising Terry about he he saw. Yes, Terry asked him as an employee to do it, but it was seriously weasel-ly. And lets not forget the lies to the fans about “extensive searches” and the taxes and palm trees line that other northeastern and Canadian teams don’t seem to be negatively impacted by. He’s a weasel.
  21. I know the Bills are bigger, but this is a complaint I have with WGR. There are only so many times I can hear Joe from Cheektowaga agree with one of the hosts on a Bills topic before I am BEGGING to hear some other sports news.
  22. It was the right time to make the change. I have a feeling there are more trades coming and if Sabres want to be in those discussions it is good it is with Jarmo as GM. Just really sad coinsidence with his father passing away.
  23. He wasn't. You can see him feeling bad about his outburst by the end of the video. Definitely not an odd thing to do.
