  1. Past hour
  2. I'd trade Peterka and #9 and Östlund for him tomorrow without a 2nd thought. I'd throw in Byram too if needed.
  3. Yea and Paul Hamilton was on there today lamenting how Buffalo rushes all their prospects to the NHL... like Power who went back to college or Kulich who spent 2yrs in the AHL just like Peterka and Quinn. They love stating ideas as facts. Usually the morning show is a bit better. Note: I understand it's talk radio so I get it's all this.
  4. i don't watch enough hockey to be familiar with this guy. pretty effing good, eh? nfw the sabres get him.
  5. Now tell me how many sabres games you’ve watched since 2009. I know the extended editions are long, but.. I’m not sure the hockey has been Oscar quality
  6. You shouldn’t be surprised that small successes get overshadowed by one’s overall record. The fans are less tolerant and patient with this franchise and staff after a generation of failing and an owner who is incommunicado. The fans are fed up as I am.
  7. Peterka, Byram for Robertson, Bishel E5
  8. True. Maybe he's being underestimated. Maybe his persona as a simpleton is a ploy. Given enough time he may grow to a level of mythic proportions, like a Keyser Söze.
  9. You may think you are embarrassing me but I take pride in my dinosaur nature. Now get off my weed infested lawn. Excuse me now. I have to go and pee.
  10. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/real-kypers-off-season-trade-board-1-0-players-to-watch-this-summer/ Some interesting names here, and I do think Buffalo will have to do most, if not all of there tinkering this year through trades
  11. Today
  12. oh got damn -- do you not really remember the Sabre teams of 2005-2007? (understandable, if so. ... but damn.)
  13. Rick Dhaliwal, who is a Canucks insider, said on his recent podcast he believes the Stars are shopping Jason Robertson. now there was some smoke to Buffalo being in on Robertson and almost acquiring him was it last year or the year before? I wouldnt be shocked if he is available we swing back around and try again, he is a big body winger, signed for 1 more year at 7.5 million i believe and then is an RFA. His last 4 years of points are 80,80,109,79 He was hurt in the playoffs and didnt look himself but this would be a huge pick up! Have to expect the return would sting of course, but likely Dallas wants to shed cap so maybe its less then normal becasue they want the 7.5 million in cap space. Or maybe its Peterka for Robertson and then we agree to take Marchment, Dumba or Lybushkin back as well. If it was Peterka plus for Marchment and Robertson, id do that all day! Not sure what the plus would be, 9th overal? Dont know if Dallas would need that, maybe they want to add a high pick into there prospects after Benn and Sequin and Duschene will leave soon Even if it was Peterka and Kulich for Robertson and Marchment i would do it, and I think we are a better team all day with that move
  14. I agree, I do think that if this structure fails Adams is probably gone... in fact I might say 1 foot out the door.. the question will be does Pegula relinquesh control and if he doesnt does Jarmo stay?
  15. This is the crux of the whole thing and it simply validates what we've speculated on for years. This ultimately started when Pat LaFontaine realized it and said this won't work for me and walked out the door. It's been a clown show with ringmaster TP in charge ever since. So the question now is will JK make a difference? Has the owner realized he needs senior advice after all? Will JK stick to his guns and go up against a TP idea or will he just be happy to get a payday and climb in the clown car as another yes man. I thought Ruff would refuse to get in the clown car by demanding his own assistants but when they ran all that back and even promoted Appert I thought Lindy's just glad to have another job. No serious boat rocking here. idk, if you want to be optimistic you assume JK will change things and it'll finally change, but the pessimist in me just says it's a fan placating window dressing move to give false hope (and sell tickets) and it'll still be the TP clown show. No idea which way it will go at all. Hope and pray.
  16. I don't see the urgency in getting rid of UPL. If we got Demko he starts, Levi can battle UPL for the back up job and if he earns it definitively then you can look at it but otherwise you start Levi in Rochester and let it play out the way these things play out on other teams. Rookies EARNING jobs, not being given them.
  17. I'd agree, if you sign marner you will figure everything else out. I'm not really worried about what to do with Byram and Peterka because you just added a PPG player who's an all-star.
  18. Indeed, the game may have passed him by, but the Leafs were just mediocre the year before he came back. They fell apart and then fled to the Norris division to deliberately get an easier go at it. That also backfired. He was the last to win a Cup in Toronto.
  19. This article makes me wonder how long Jarmo will last. Longer or shorter than Patty Lafontaine during the Murray days?
  20. Cap finagling isn't the problem some people keep thinking it is. You can move bodies out if you are a creative GM. It's done constantly around the league.
  21. I was in med school and residency from 2001 to 2009, the only thing I remember from that time period was getting married and having two kids. And the only reason I remember those is they still hang around me
  22. I just watched a documentary on Harold Ballard and the Leafs of the 70s and the part about bringing Punch back to be GM of the Leafs was not pretty. A lot of the players said he was out if touch and did a ton of damage to the team.
  23. That was the same year @JohnC graduated from high school. He never read the book and his kids were gone before the movies came out.
  24. If all that infighting happens and it turns out as bad as you predict then Adams will also get fired with the rest. I think this bridges Adams to another role, maybe POHO, maybe back to the business side again. And it gives Jarmo and Terry a year to get acquainted. No way would the real Punch agree to anything but full control of Hockey Ops. That is also what brought Bowman to Buffalo, ownership made him GM and Coach, that was not happening on Montreal.
  25. What it says is when you lose a lot, it's open season on your a**. No one is going to fact-check.
