Bandit Defense/Vinc playing lights out again...up 5-1 with about 5 minutes left in the first half.

Not a permanent opinion, but he is going to have to earn more playing time if he wants to stay up with the Sabres. I have very high hopes for him, but at the end of the day he has to take advantage of the opportunity. All the seasoning in the AHL should definitely prepare him for that so when he gets his chance again hopefully he takes it and runs with it and never looks back.

Martin got thrown out of the U18 semifinals against Slovakia for this late hit. I think the Mike Peca comparison might be right... I was reading in another forum that at 17yo the Soo fans think he's already the best hitter in the league. The hit was clearly late, but all signs are that he plays the type of hockey many Sabres fans are clamouring for. Let's trade down and get him (and avoid O'Brien at all costs).

We only want to play on weekends and we don't want anyone sitting around TOO long, so we start some series while the other earlier series are still ongoing if we're already at a weekend that otherwise would pass with no games played.
