  1. Past hour
  2. Owen Power had a rough season. I'm not entirely sure why, but I suspect the contract and the coaching change each played a role. He will be better this year, and probably a lot better because he's very gifted and very young, and that's what gifted young defencemen do. A lot of you probably won't notice right away because what you hate most about him isn't going to change.
  3. In spite of his obvious talent, he simply hasn’t played with any desire. That’s why I would move on from him. He’s had time and has shown exactly what he is. Get rid of his contract and auntie Em style even if ya gotta accept a sub par deal. He’ll continue to get eaten alive for years by any player who feels like taking his lunch money and his submissive style will affect the entire team…. #1 player in his draft. Pathetic
  4. Today
  5. Please, we just got rid of contracts so Pegula could save more money, no way is he taking money to the cap ceiling that would mean he's trying!
  6. Agree with everything but the Skinner part. It’s true they did not need to buy him out last year. But, the buyout cost this year and the next 3 years is nearly identical to what it would have been had they waited until this year to do the buyout.
  7. Jarmo, lock Adams in a closet and get in on this.
  8. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/oilers-acquire-isaac-howard-from-lightning-for-sam-oreilly/ I think I like O’Reilly better but Oilers probably see Howard stepping in the lineup right away.
  9. Yep, but ours are on the Titanic.
  10. I remember there was a game against Dallas and we won 1-0 with Ullmark and it was all Ullmark and at that moment I thought damn, Ullmark might actually be really good. And then we let him walk.
  11. That's actually a fair point, but Mrtka is still years away. You can sort of see it right? Byram arbitration, 2 year deal and he walks, and in 2 years Mrtka enters the D. Once again, rearranging deck chairs.
  12. Montreal definitely better. Columbus is better. Detroit slightly better and Boston and Philly and NYR better. Do not think Boston or Detroit or Philly did enough to get in but those will be harder opponents. Who is dropping out to get Sabres in???
  13. If. That's the question. So far he has not shown any signs of using his body or developing good D habits. It's still early in his career and he can, but we have to see signs of it to have that hope realistically.
  14. That's delusional though. There's nothing to indicate goaltending will be better and the team isn't better and yet teams around it are better. It's just that simple. KA is the worst GM in the league. I think I could play goal for the swamp cats the way they play D.
  15. They’re trying to buy a championship.
  16. Funny, I clearly recall folks right here saying Ullmark wasn't good enough as a Sabre. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
  17. Yzerman isn't exactly doing great in Detroit so... But no, I don't think Lyon alone gets us to the playoffs. Upl will start too many games.
  18. If power played defense like mrtka, I'd like him more.
  19. Not seeing that myself, other than Montreal. Other than that, this was the summer of shuffling deck chairs.
  20. He doesn’t have to smash anybody but he could be an excellent/upper tier NHL D man if he would physically impose his will. Doesn’t gotta be mean just a little more intense.
  21. build it up? they were in the frozen four this past year.
  22. I know you didn't ask me, but I'd say it's too early to tell. I hate the man, his messaging sucks, but he's got some wins to go with the losses.
  23. I clicked on the first one I saw Demoted post, and this is in no way a shot at him or his videos, but I've never clicked on a second one.
  24. Ya I mean that’s gonna be a cool 10 in a row for the blue jays
