  1. Past hour
  2. League is a joke. When you have NHL shills like Elliott Friedman saying 'wow what a job' by these no tax teams, the league is a farce. So if Person A offers me $20.00 and I net $12 from him and Person B offers me $17.00 and I net $14.00, this makes Person B a genius in the commish, and other NHL shills eyes, who deny, deny and deny. Might be time for the NHL to go the soccer premier route and have the No Tax and big Markets for one Cup, and the other markets compete for something else.
  3. I would hold on to Byram and you don’t want Samsonov he’s flipping terrible. Orlov’s best hockey is behind him so that’s a no go. But Granlund on the other hand is worth taking a shot on as well as Pius Suter
  4. Oh man Perbix has some solid subs
  5. Southeastern grocery store chain.
  6. Is that a snack food or a genital treatment or what?
  7. That is roughtly what a 2 year deal would've looked like. His AAV on his last (2 year) contract was $805k. His QO would've been $866k. He would've had arbitration rights upon receiving the QO. Don't know how many games he missed this year (and in total over the last 3 years) out on IR. IF he was on IR long enough, the offer would've needed to be a 1 way offer. He didn't qualify to automatically get a 1 way offer from games played.
  8. Rust for Rosen I can live with. Rust for Helenuis or Byram and I have a Sabres merch bonfire in my backyard for Canada Dy.
  9. I think if Byram-Dahlin had to hold up against the Florida forecheck in the playoffs -- let's say at the end of this season: a) holy hell, they're in the playoffs, and b) Yes. That pairing would be the absolute least of the lineup's problems and we'd want them skating 58:00 minutes per night. We'd just want to make sure that he didn't retaliate when they hacked him and he'd have to school himself not to cross the line.
  10. Mrtka assigned 57, so let the Tyler Myers comparisons begin. That was my point.
  11. Don’t give them the benefit of doubt for doing something the have a decanted history of doing? They did it with Bryson last year and I just figured out the other one I couldn’t remember… Jost a couple years back. And that was a mid season addition too.
  12. Anyone else ready for some serious disappointment this off-season?? I already feel it even though I like what we got in the Jjp trade.
  13. Good decisions on small issues add up. As you well know, the Sabres don’t have much margin of error. For me, I’m not inclined to give this battered franchise the benefit of the doubt. This player is a solid lower pairing player who played well last year.
  14. I thought he was like $1.7M with arb rights?
  15. Probably Sabres call as to whether to make it a 1 way or 2 way QO. He only played 40 games this last season and only has 131 GP the last 3 years. But IF he missed at least 20 games this past year due to being on IR or a total of 49 games due to being on IR the past 3 years combined, then yes, the QO needed to be on a 1 way deal. Know he missed time in January due to a LBI suffered in practice, but don't know how many games he missed while on IR. Good call.
  16. How much you want to bet we keep Byram, and they pick up some D level forwards in FA!! KA holds a press conference we won the off-season as our defense got better and the kids will make up the goals we lost in the JJP trade
  17. I didn’t grab the tampering issue out of the blue. It was mentioned by the former French and loquacious Sabre goalie, Marty B, on his WGR hockey show.
  18. On the one hand, I agree with a lot of what is being said. On the other hand, we are talking about the sixth or seventh defenseman on a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in fourteen years. I’m pretty sure whether the streak continues will have little to nothing to do with this decision.
  19. NFL is unique. In the NHL, NBA and MLB you get haves and have-nots.
  20. Yep. No benefit of the doubt for this 14 year clown show.
  21. It’s a challenge to give this rickety organization the benefit of the doubt on anything.
  22. Fair
  23. Yeah, not sure if they're following the Bryson model of not handing out a QO to a guy or if they're following the Kahun model of not handing out a QO to a guy. Guess we'll know which it is pretty soon.
  24. The contract itself may be less in total dollars (or the same), but you know what the qualifying offer has that this hypothetical contract doesn’t? The QO is probably two way.
  25. With JBD now not qualified I think it makes lots more sense and Perbix is a big mean SOB, fits there new “style”
