2025 NHL Entry Draft Thread, Sabres Draft 9th
triumph_communes replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
With the current roster Samuelsson has to reason to have to be played. You’ll be disappointed about the 1C situation, but Byram for a top6 forward or a UFA splash may change things -
-
So what is the strategy? We have a lot of mediocre defensemen and really only one new guy who should/could/maybe make a difference in Kesselring. Byrum is probably getting traded and should get us something to replace the hole JJ left on offense. Do you package him? Still need a partner for Dahlin, not hope one exists on the current roster. Still don’t have a 1C. Norris is not it. Don’t try to make fetch happen KA. Muel is still here. I don’t care what KA does as long as it results in getting rid of him. I have accepted the fact Power and his physical weakness will remain. So, whatever. Sorry for the length. Just getting concerned after 14 years of mismanagement.

Bedkowski is someone that doesn't matter until like 2030 if he ever does. At that point, if a 6'5" 225lb rhd with a preference for violence is an issue because we have 4rhd already... well who cares.
-
Not when your stat line in 15 nhl games is 0 goals, 1 assist, -6. Some guys are just AHL guys unfortunately....bad pick
-
There is that...
-
And he had no issues whatsoever with overzealously collecting RHD's when it was his boy Botterill doing the collecting.
-
His consolidated was 79. I just find it interesting that EP had him 47th.
-
I like that Maceo Phillips kid that Calgary drafted. Was hoping he’d land with us.
-
Which MIGHT have us still in the Darcy Regier portion of the 3 GM in 1 One Man Show as we're in flashback mode to the Grigorenko-Girgensons, Ristolainen-Zadorov, and arguably even the Long and Short of Two Tylers mode. It is SOOOOOOO confusing.

What is the Sabres internal CAP# for the 2025-26 season

Perhaps Peterka told them they needed to move him. -
You know what the 1st most wanted quantity is in the NHL? Centers. You know what 2nd is? Big RHD.
-
We are doing Amerks games again when this kid hits the A. Just making the show in any form is doing more than fine for a 3rd rounder.
-
4th round, #116 -- acquired for RHD Lyubushkin -- perfect pick to add another RHD.
-
Solid pick, I show him ranked at 71, picked at 71. Seems destined to a bottom pair role, with little to no offensive ability, which is fine for a 3rd rounder

5 years from now

Trading into the Sabres slot is still considered moving up, no? 😉

OK, well he identified the need and is getting as many resources as possible to ensure at least a few pan out. I can't complain about it.
