  1. Past hour
  2. I promise you I will not be. Where is Promo when you need him? *I want Adams to fail*. I’m not one of those people pretending to enjoy the solitary and few and far between wins when they arrive: I think I’m just the guy who says the quiet part out loud. It’s a vendetta. I don’t like Grima Wormtongue. He’s a slimy, inept professional who I’ve been calling see-through and disingenuous since day one. As long as he’s here as GM it’s not my team. I cannot possibly be disappointed by his firing because it’s the means to my end in and of itself
  3. That's what I was thinking. I feel like the rookie dinner tradition is a dumb one. Some players might really need the money, whereas the veterans for sure don't. Those same players that need the money might never cash the big pay cheque or even get to be on the veteran side of a rookie dinner.
  4. Then that would represent fundamental change, to a point. Would he still be operating under EEE? Brawndo points out how the Sabres haven't taken on salary in a trade in years. Why are ineffective assistants still lurking behind the bench?
  5. You might be disappointed. I hope not, but you might be.
  6. GM has the most affect on day to day in Buffalo. If we create a fake role for Adams I’d imagine the sway the role has is tantamount to a fake position
  7. Check out unbiased Sabres analysis from Calgary w Rhett Warner post CGY game. We are not alone.
  8. Adams had a fundamental part in the construction, up to and including the philosophy of the strategy, of the roster, and does so as well re: the day to day operations of the team. When the goal is merely playoffs even just a change at GM can make a huge difference Just because you personally don’t value a metric doesn’t mean it doesn’t have value for others. I cannot stress this enough: Adams deserves to be fired. The firing in itself carries a lot of weight for me. It angers me that he’s still here and I could never support a team that wins right now because Adams will get credit and I have a personal vendetta against Adams in the GM role and have since he fired a bunch of people to get the job, and came up with the plan that resulted in the trading of my favourite player, Jack Eichel maybe you simply aren’t used to people being this candid? I need Adams to be fired. It carries a lot of weight for me in and of itself When the team wins it makes me upset because I want Adams to fail. This is because he already has egregiously failed and any success he has now is undeserved and too late Also: there cannot BE a fundamental change in the owner unless Adams is fired. People keep saying “unless Terry changes it doesn’t matter”. Not firing Adams is confirmation nothing has changed. If he’s fired it means there’s at least a possibility these takes are leaning dangerously close to “well we can’t win the cup so why make the playoffs at all.” like, no. Perfect can never be the enemy of good. Some change is better than nothing
  9. Adams is a spineless Yes Man. He will just execute every idea Pegula suggests. If Adams is fired and Lindy is made President atleast there is someone in place that won’t just be a yes man and Oegula would respect him enough to let him initiate change he wouldn’t let Adams do. Adams has to be canned and removed. The hierarchy has to change
  10. I actually think the best outcome would be for Pegula to announce himself as GM. If he is having to approve sending depth D-men for low draft picks, he effectively already is. This way he can balls it up, and has no one else to blame. Maybe then he will realise he needs to let professionals do their job without his armchair input.
  11. Is that the restaurant that is now La Belle Sicilia on Genesee St. in Cheektowaga? I still go there on a periodic road trip basis as the food is still excellent for the price..
  12. Looks like we are on pace for our annual #7 - 12 draft pick that we won’t trade away (until they’re 24 and about to peak)
  13. if Adams is shown the door and is out, and Jarmo takes over, then Jarmo should be free to bring in whatever assistants, advisors, and coaches that he wants. If he is not then he should not even consider the job. If Adams is moved to another position within Hockey Ops, and Jarmo is the GM, then I do not think that very much will change.
  14. No i totally disagree. Your POV may be accurate as far as most are concerned but you are speaking with someone who hasn’t watched a game this season and won’t until KA is fired. For me it makes a huge difference For me it’s about getting my team back. I’m not watching again until he’s fired - that’s simply the fact of the matter. Maybe I’m on an island, but that doesn’t change the situation as far as I am concerned
  15. If Adams is completely excised, what changes? Nothing, without a fundamental change in the owner. Here's the canary in the coal mine for me: not to go all TaroT, but who are the assistants going to be in this post-Doody nirvana?
  16. You wife was seen out at night with a Wookie.
  17. OK, but no one posts to this thread. You come off as old... everybody's workin' for the weekend went away in the 80s.
  18. So, if Adams moves up to POHO, and Jarmo is GM what really changes? I just cannot see how this will work. I hope Terry gives us a presser on Monday and explains it in detail. Who is that?
  19. Even the potential firing of Adams feels like its being handled in a blundering manner. Rumours days ahead of any activity; the Sabres going on a mini-win streak over the timeframe; Christmas just around the corner, so the new GM will struggle to get their feet under the table quickly; probably too late to really make a difference in the season etc.
  20. There's logic and then there's logic. Logic should have dictated KA not returning as GM. His return suggested he was getting one more kick at the can. Now logic would suggest he is still kicking, barely. But the team, with a couple more wins, would be approaching the outskirts of a playoff points pace, and since ending the losing streak, the points pace has been where it needs to be. It would be a weird time to pull the trigger. Be careful what you wish for. Pulling it now suggests a rearranging of the deck chairs. Removing KA as GM is going to feel good for about 36 hours. LGR is right that a lot more has to change.
  21. Who are the rookies on this roster? Rosen? Kunak? Dunne? Kozak? It feels kind of harsh to target Rosen and Kunak for rookie dinner when they have spent most of the season not in the NHL. Dunne and Kozak have both spent multiple years playing NHL games, so not sure if they will still count? Poor Kuntar may end up losing money to play in the NHL
  22. Just rewatched the third. It wasn’t as bad as it felt last night. Lyon was solid, but certainly not Hasek-like. Unlike others, this game does find me hopeful. It’s the vary type of game the Sabres are famous for losing in the third. Beat the Krackers tomorrow and this road trip will have turned out to be not the disaster I thought it was going to be.
  23. I think this theory has merit and reflects the Sabres' status quo. While the fan base wants these people gone now, the organization (Pegula) has demonstrated (over and over again) that they're not willing to do the obvious thing.
  24. I am not sure he did it... way too smart... I am wondering if he had his authority taken away and it is Lindy that demanded this. I think if it was Kevyn's choice he would have brought up Levi and made it a 4 some
