  1. Past hour
  2. But it's also intended be an affiliation of a group -- like a fraternity or sorority.
  3. Sheeeyit. They did a huge promo piece for it at the start of last season. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/video/welcome-to-the-sabrehood-6363052964112 Watching that video again, I get it why people view the brand as a physical, geographic neighbourhood.
  4. The franchise is promoting its Sabrehood brand everywhere at the moment and has been doing so for some time. When the European d-man was drafted (Mrtka (sp?)), the team's social media platforms welcomed him to the Sabrehood. Sabrehood was featured in multiple PR events and published recaps that the franchise did in the preseason. (One example -- https://www.nhl.com/sabres/multimedia/galleries/photos-sabrehood-summer-tour-2025-tops ) Sabrehood was emblazoned on the rally towels in the arena last night.
  5. He got injured in the 3rd but whatever. Let me shoot a puck at your face and see how you do.
  6. It's he in for Norris or is he replacing Geertsen?
  7. I thought the power play was moving the puck really well and getting chances. They certainly kept the puck in the Rangers end more than usual. In fact I thought the Sabres put in a great effort last night. They were getting outplayed early, then took the game over. They were better than the Rangers for most of the game. They were physical and played solid defense but for two failed clears that led to goals. A couple of stupid puck luck goals late made it seem worse than it was. Of course if you didn't watch you wouldn't know that. See everyone Saturday. 😂
  8. Sigh, guess Norris will be awhile
  9. Disappointed they brought back the exact same coaching staff (minus Ruff, I'll give him another season). Powerplay is PATHETIC once again!
  10. Per Sabres PR
  11. Just remember it's just a game that you have no control over. It's just entertainment. Don't ever let anything you cannot control get you angry.
  12. Should I know what you are talking about? Where do you see this being used?
  13. The argument that "it's just one game" doesn't hold water any longer, not when you see the same issues that has plagued the team for years, such as the poor defense and PP, coupled with listless play in the season opener at home.
  14. Hey now, come on. Faceoffs are hard. It’s the leading cause of upper body injuries, right?
  15. It's not 1 game, it's been 14*82 + 1 games that has caused this.
  16. Today
  17. lol - joking. mostly. my recommendation is to shift to another mode, take a few steps back, monitor the team's doings from a distance. if they string together some games where they take 7 of 10 points, then maybe tune back in.
  18. I am sure she is used to it... as we are about to get used to it...
  19. Yeah, not only has Pegula incompetently destroyed this franchise, he has literally stripped the love of hockey for a generation of kids... like 55 years of history and you literally destroy an entire generation in 15 years... like, you have to try to do that, like work hard at it...
  20. my anger and disappointment with the incompetence of the Sabres franchise is currently plateaued. i will reach a new level when those as*holes appoint Appert as HC (for he has been anointed and it has been preordained).
  21. And here's why you're wrong......um.....
  22. "Yells at cloud" isn't specific to the Sabres. It's just a generalized internet-meme-generated characterization of a certain kind of cranky, grumpy behaviour. You may not need to be branded. I'm sure you don't want to be branded. But the people who work in marketing for the franchise needed a brand. They settled on Sabrehood (for now). I don't (can't) imagine that an NHL franchise's marketing team would roll out a PR campaign based on #SabresFans. I mean - c'mon. Like I said, I initially voted "meh - who cares." And that's really where I land on the issue. I only switched my vote to "I like it" because I was so bummed out by all the griping on this thread.
  23. Exactly, heartbreaking. It's the worst thing that could have possibly happened in the world of sports. At least with the Bills, during the drought, tailgating was a blast with friends and family. The Sabres offer nothing, and when the crowd leaves a home opener, not being able to celebrate once the entire night, I'm quite sure a lot of folks were feeling the same pain. This year, my son said..."Dad, don't even try and tell me this team will be any good this year." It was the first year in his lifetime (18 years old) when I told him that I don't think this is going to be a turning point year, but ya never know. We both knew...
  24. Can it be two teams that aren't the Sabres?
