Internet mentioned Jarmo is removing himself from the Sabres. Apparently, he had a meeting with KA. K.A. cancelled, said he had something important to do to prepare for the Draft and Free Agency. Jarmo was curious and went to his office anyway. KA was watching Charlie Brown cartoons.

For me, it doesn't matter what KA does positively this offseason. My view on him won't change. His record is his record. I have more animus for the owner who oddly hired him, and intensified my scorn for the owner for retaining him after half a decade of piddling performance. Even if KA has a stellar offseason, it won't be forgotten that he was the person who contributed to driving this damaged vehicle into the the ditch. My judgment is based on the body of work and not a segment of one's work.

My thoughts: The pre-draft press conference is probably a regularly-scheduled event that every team has, every year. If Adams is up to something behind the scenes, I'd prefer he keep it quiet and doesn't tip his hand in the media in such a way that could cost him leverage in potential deals with other teams. Someone above said "I don't care what he says, but only about what he does." I agree with this. I don't have a whole lot of confidence in Adams either way, but maybe the presence of Jarmo can help. It's a huge disappointment if the entire coaching staff returns. Again, no need to publicly make statements in the media to humiliate guys who may be bad coaches but good people. Just say they're under contract publicly, while, hopefully, privately, he's searching for their replacements.

Jarmo will be the whisperer in KA's ear. I'm certainly not a promoter of KA. But even someone who is as cautious and unimaginative as he is, is aware that some notable actions have to be taken.

Where KA and I are aligned is that there is an expectation for internal improvement by the young group. Is it too much of an expectation? I would say that although leaning toward a conservative approach, it is a reasonable approach assuming some of the other liabilities are addressed.

Empathy is the wrong word. You are thinking of sympathy. Sympathy comes from a perspective of superiority. There is no feeling of what it is like to be in someone else's shoes. Empathy comes from a perspective of “this could happen to me”. Ain’t no way Kyvyn could have happen to him what is happening to the fanbase.

Maybe it is the way he plays that doesn't "fit my eye". Seems to act nonchalant on the ice.

Vegas has destroyed their team building since winning the Cup. It will come back to bite them as there is zero loyalty to players. I would love the Sabres to be like Vegas but I think they are going a little overboard.

I contend that fortifying the goalie position and adding a couple of defensive and more physical blue line players will make a big difference. The most consequential decision will be bringing in a goalie who will fortify that essential position. That's the biggest challenge for the front office. My expectation/hope is that Quinn, JJP, Power, Benson, Kulich and Samuelsson will be better. Am I being unreasonable? I don't think so. All these young players have enough experience where they should be a lot more comfortable in manly league.
