  1. Past hour
  2. I would in a heartbeat There maybe another move that is more realistic. How about hiring Sunny Mehta, who is one of Zito’s AGM and the Head of Analytics. Jeff Marek reported that Zito does not finalize any decisions without checking with him first. Then offer Dudley a similar position as Senior Advisor for some more experience
  3. Like... for him or his sister/ mom?
  4. Was also the color commentator for Al Michaels for the Miracle on Ice in 1980
  5. From Joe Yerdon Zach Benson said the price Josh Norris paid to get No. 9 from him? Luxury bags. Louis Vuitton, specifically. He said a watch was offered but he's not much of a watch guy. He said No. 6 is a number he's worn from when he was a little kid growing up, but... he's all ears if someone wants to get 6!
  6. Jesus, those perforated panels. The Bills should do a naming rights deal with Williams-Sonoma and refer to the stadium as ‘The Big Colander’.
  7. They sure tried at the end of the first half though, didn’t they?
  8. I’m a little confused here. Why does the team have to do anything when a player changes numbers? Even offering up a name plate change for a price is more than used to ever be available. Buying a jersey with a name on it doesn’t give you a lifetime of name changes. That guy isn’t wearing that number forever.
  9. Today
  10. Like their un-fearless leader GMKA…the Hank Bullough of GM’s
  11. Would be a dream. It’s been an incredibly fun season so far
  12. Last of the stand up goalie before butterfly hit the 80's
  13. My hockey team hate starts and ends with the Toronto Maple Leaves. I do respect some of their history though, like their original Imlach era, and of course the Bill Berilko story as told by Gord Downie.
  14. RIP Ken Dryden. This seems like a good time for some Ken Dryden Fun Facts, and there are a few good ones involving the Sabres: Ken won a Stanley Cup and the Conn Symthe MVP Trophy in 1971 and he did not reach rookie status as he played only 6 NHL games that season. He is the only player to do that. On March 20, 1971, Buffalo at Montreal, so of course Punch Imlach had to start Ken's brother Dave Dryden. Montreal did not started Ken Dryden, despite Punch's cajoling to Al McNeil their coach. After the anthem Punch pulled Dave Dryden and went with Joe Daley in goal. The matchup was not to be. Then the Montreal starter Rogie Vachon went down injured, Ken came in the game. Punch immediately put Dave in net and this the only time in NHL history that a pair of brothers faced against each other as goaltenders. They finished the game with a handshake https://external-preview.redd.it/SmL4RQcRVHDmV-Qghj7IJQ5_xEGDGwfHYhOx2hxiauI.gif?width=448&format=mp4&s=fc256cc2a677af11ff375369de90ed685b220f8e The next season Ken Dryden edged out Rick Martin for Rookie of the year Calder Trophy Ken won 6 Cups and bunches of Vezina's He was multi talented guy - lawyer, HoF goalie, politician, writer, teacher, and NHL exec.
  15. I would have loved if Ottawa gave Cozens an A when he arrived. The ol’ Sabres Rivet treatment. He’s a leader!
  16. I appreciate that 😉
  17. Are you arguing that he shouldn't be signed for a long-term deal? If you are, it is a perplexing stance to take because not signing him makes the Sabres a lesser team.
  18. Because there is a difference between a team that is 'hated' and one you don't want to win the cup. There are many fans that may be feeling something close to hate (probably disgust) with the Sabres, but if you are on this board, the thing that would make that go away is winning the cup. Of course, the 'other' option is there, so if anyone wants it to be the Sabres, they select 'other' and simply respond and let us know.
  19. This would be a good deal for both parties. I would prefer a 7-year deal. But if he gets an 8-year deal, then so what. From an organizational standpoint, not getting a deal done because of an extra year on a contract would make no sense at all for this lagging franchise.
  20. I’m in if you still need owners
  21. I think we need to arrest every republican politician until the real facts come out. They can all be sent to Florida's concentration camp for the time being. What a bunch of disgusting humans and anyone that supports them is just as bad.
  22. Why is there a debate on this? Sign him for whatever he wants. He is a top player and loves it in Buffalo.
  23. You are extrapolating from a decidedly minority view in order to justify your lenient view of not holding the organization accountable for their poor record. It was a minority view that Tuch would not extend with Buffalo. There were follow-up discussions regarding what it would mean if he didn't sign. I was involved in that discussion and made the point, also made by many others, that it would be a devasting blow to the team and what it might mean for some of the other players, such as Dahlin and Tage. It's rare that you will get unanimity of viewpoints when you have a large and varied audience. You are taking a minority view and attributing it to the majority in order to support your position. The problem I have with this organization is not that they get all things wrong. That would be an absurd position to take. The problem that I have is that it doesn't do enough things to put the team in a more favorable position. It shouldn't be a surprise that when you have a stolid person as your GM that there will be a lack of imagination and initiative in his actions. I didn't advocate for a substantial roster remake this offseason. However, I expected a little more activity in adding to the roster. Unsurprisingly, it didn't happen.
  24. You forgot Lawyer. That should not taint his legacy much. His and T Espo's greatest moments have to be the Summit Series in 1972.
  25. He was an everyman, athlete, author politician and a Cornell grad who saw, played, witnessed life.
  26. Shh.. we don't want to disrupt Adams me time after another in his mind successful season of the process
