βAnd you will help end our 18 year playoff droughtβ -
Which is said of virtually EVERY non-goaltending 5th - 7th round pick made by any NHL team.

Worse (and likely more accurate): "It's really important that you understand that I WILL still be here (for no necessarily explicable reason) when you end up here." -
The offseason so far - Are the Sabres better?
sabremike replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
The only way anything ever gets better is for Terry to go away. There is no hope as long as he is the owner. -
Most likely the case. But it depends on whether they gave themselves any early termination provisions to the MOU version of the CBA that extended the 2012 CBA from September 2022 through September 2026. The MOU didn't have any early termination provisions but have never seen a copy of the CBA itself as modified by the MOU. The 2012 CBA did have early termination provisions (which have long been expired for the pre-MOU CBA); presumably there are none in the current CBA as it now stands, but as have never seen that version of the current CBA (and haven't seen the new one yet either) that is simply a presumption. So, again, believe you are correct that the existing BF-LTIR loopholes that Vegas, TB, and others take advantage of will still be available through this coming season, but not 100% certain of it. (Would put it about 98% likely. π ) And teams will still be able to take advantage of BF-LTIR loopholes; there just will be more constraints which theoretically will limit just how much teams can try to abuse the system.

Yes, I know, Charlie Kirk. The relevant part of the link is the CNN clip. That man has a lot to say, not much viewed as good.
-
They might be better, but they are not a playoff team. Adams needs to show some out-of-character competency this week to make this season something more than another colossal waste of time for the franchise.

The scary thing is, this would mean accountability occurred. I donβt think your quote is truly what will happen. -
That's not going to change the speed of when July 1 gets here.
-
Yes, that's why there was a thread about it just yesterday.

This is the last year you can take advantage of that LTIR loophole I think.
-
I would not say we are better or project to be at this point. I would not say we are worse... but let's see what next week brings.
-
Byfield would be great but the kings just extended him last year so doesnβt make sense at all unless we give up a lot.

I'm not sure that proves Byram isn't on the Sabres. Do you think we were better before the draft and having pick #9 or now with Mrtka? -

You're accurate with most of what you mention here. I've admitted that I'm going to opine if I feel compelled, when IMO, a poster is being overtly and unjustly negative. I have a lot less venum attached to my posts than probably most would think. It's more of a mantle for me as I've also tried to articulate, probably poorly. What I disagree with you on is your view of the content itself. Including Byram as not being here and then not including what need his replacement would fill - is the definition of being wrong. It's 100% true he's a Sabres. There's no disputing that. We of course have our opinions and by nature are rooted in biases. However there are truths that should at least be the foundation of a discussion. -
There part of the Marner Contract

I would let Dallas decide that on Byram. If theyβre not interested so be it. Move on. Dallas has a big cap problem and Robertson could be available. The fear that Byram is pursuing a long term bonanza contract is a bit wild. He really has not proven he is worth that, and in Buffalo he doesnβt get the opportunity to prove he is worth a big contract, in Buffalo Dahlin is #1, and Power is being favored as the #2 power play defenseman. Leaving Byram out Byram may be happy to sign bridge with a contender like Dallas, or any other contender. Or he may like to join an up and coming team that needs his skills? We don't know what he wants, we only know he allegedly moved his stuff out of Buffalo, yet he says he is interested in re-signing.
