  1. Past hour
  2. Unironically yes The temptation to become desensitized to it is a prevalent, strong and natural process
  3. There's also no reason to believe that it IS true--or that it matters at all. The latter point is more important. The guy is the owner. As I've said before, you can put a ridiculous amount of layers between Adams and Pegula: president of hockey operations; vice presidents of forwards, defensemen, and goaltenders; plenipotentiary in charge of scouting; duke of power play development; whatever: The owner is still the ultimate decision maker in any organization including this one. For example, it's evident from the pattern of negotiations that the Houston Texans' GM wanted to keep DeShaun Watson. But Janice and Cal McNair didn't, so he was gone. Whether Pegula meddles with management of the team is up for reasonable debate. Whether he is entitled to do so isn't.
  4. I see them as a more of a quality control guy. They are there to give advice and to veto an idea when they think it would cause irreparable harm to the team. Sort of like the parent of a teenager or young adult. That said, Terry is not qualified for this role. Not even remotely. More like, block a decision that would cause harm to his lifestyle.
  5. I still have no idea what a president of hockey ops even is and how many teams even have one. The blurred lines between a more business oriented president and this position are hard to sort out from team to team. The Sabres need a GM, but I'm not sure they need this.
  6. what was that anonymous sourced quote a while back? “If I have to call you to get clearance to trade Jokiharu (sp) for a 4th - what are we even doing here?”
  7. It's not so much this, as it is that they are idiots.
  8. Were you concerned that the team not improving wasn’t getting enough scrutiny? 🤣
  9. I listened to that episode today. Just a side note, both Petey and Craig started the show saying they had a bunch of stuff to talk about on the Sabres. They talked about how Petey went to a July 4th party and someone related to Shanny told him this. Then they didn't say anything else. I guess they have trouble remembering what they tease. 🤣
  10. Today I learned……
  11. I’m not convinced having Zito would’ve made any difference. Botts was fired because he didn’t want to follow EEE. Zito wouldn’t picked the same fate.
  12. There’s nothing to suggest this is even remotely untrue. Just look at the results and decisions.
  13. Today
  14. There is no reason to think that this isn’t true. Even so. Yowza. https://www.reddit.com/r/sabres/s/nEffSAFN1F
  15. I look forward to Sammy getting Wally Pipped by Novikov.
  16. About time we got a story about ICE actually doing the job their mission calls for. But that in no way validates the many extra-judicial actions they’ve performed since January. Things like arresting innocent US citizens, setting off explosives to enter the home of a US citizen, raiding elementary schools to round up children, riding thru parks on horseback just because, wearing masks to conceal their identity, or deporting people for MISDEMEANORS, just to name a few. I wonder how many pardoned January 6th criminals serve in their ranks? And I gotta wonder also how attractive it is to groups like the Proud Boys who get to go and round up brown people.
  17. Well it's about to happen again when Trump sets up the next set of insider trading with August tariffs. What's funny is the stock market rebounding has nothing to do with Trump.
  18. I play a par 3 course once a week with my Mother who is in her mid 80’s. I feel like a young guy on this course, definitely no scuffles even though most are slow movers. You are right that weekends are busy at most courses. My brother in law, also retired, is my playing partner and we get out whenever we want. His son and son in law want to join us but weekends are their only options so we get the dew sweeper tee times. No scuffles, we are usually first out and setting the pace. The young guys lose balls going all out for distance but we speed them up by allowing the odd foot wedge shots.
  19. I play golf. I’ve only seen a few tussles and it always seems to be younger guys and it’s happens just like this. I try not to golf on weekends and holidays - that time is for the working men and younger guys. I prefer week days, it’s less crowded and filled with old guys who say things like “it good to be on the right side of the grass” or “everyday is Saturday”. 😂 Some younger guys make golf a ritual - many drink a lot while playing, smoke cigars and sometimes weed, and if they are not serious golfers they tend to be the impatient ones who challenge others.
  20. Indeed, luck of the draw... this guy got the short stick... but hey, he took it upon himself... my Dad always said you are a big strong kid... most people wont push it with you... but, its the little guy in the corner... that YOU think you are gonna push it with gonna kick your a$$ lol... so I am never the type to start stuff anyways just to defend myself... so I never had a problem with the little guy in the corner... 🙂
  21. True, you never know. A much smaller guy could be MMA trained or a black belt in some discipline.
  22. Tier 2 Jr. A in Canada will suffer, many NCAA bound players used to play in the BCHL, AJHL and OJHL. Guys like Makar would now play WHL instead. Those leagues will turn into feeder leagues for the CHL.
