  1. Past hour
  2. And my wife wonders why I drink so much this time of year.
  3. The play calling is not helping.
  4. Sweet Baby Jesus...
  5. A proactive organization would be sending out feelers to see what teams would be willing to give up for Tuch while calculating the odds he signs and acting accordingly. But this is a reactive organization, so they will trade him at the deadline for a comically bad return.
  6. Seriously, who is fired first Ruff / Adams combo or Beane / McDermott? The coach is broken. Isn't he supposed to be a defensive guru?
  7. Getting torched by a back up. I just can’t see this going anywhere with a defense this bad. We are going to have to score 40 again to win this. Allen is going to have to go Superman again.
  8. This defense is broken
  9. Goodbye ribs
  10. I want them to trade for a guy who could come in and play now, or at least really close. that knocks Bryson off your game day roster and then you will have the chance to trade Power in the offseason in a real hockey trade for a top 6
  11. Lose this and it’s tough sledding for the wildcard. Division is gone. They better get it together.
  12. I don't think I can watch anymore, jfc
  13. Today
  14. Those uni’s 🤢🤮
  15. And to the topic of the post: I don't keep either long term. As long as I can keep Dahlin, I'm good. I have my 1D/PP1, franchise guy who can compete for Norris' and can take over games. Moving Power can get me 3 building blocks (1st rounder, player, + something). Moving Byram, who is fine as a complimentary piece to Dahlin but to no one else... might get me a 1st or a player. Either way, I can rebuild my D-corp for balance and get a 3rd pair guy who is a PP QB, get a forward, and picks. Now, if losing Tuch causes Dahlin to say, "Enough!" --- then I go with Power over Byram. But that's worst-case scenario.
  16. Dawkins back in Houston defense is stout
  17. Easy. Quinn Hughes is UFA in 2027. Dougie Hamilton is UFA in 2028. Trade Dougie Hamilton in 2027 and sign Quinn to a good deal. Upgrade and get younger. Let the Hughes triumvirate (unless there are more coming) be their inexpensive core (by production) for the next 5 seasons. It requires Jack Hughes to stay healthy, but the talent is there at 1C and 1D.
  18. I don't think Ladd McConkey is playing tonight
  19. Defense suuuucks!
  20. Yes, and it's fortunate for him he found a team willing to give him the 2-way deal this season. I still think it's odd that he got 2 years when Ruff only has 1 remaining on his contract, but whatever. I don't fault Geertsen for anything except maybe playing too nice. It's not his fault that when he tried to mix it up and start something the opponents pointed to the scoreboard and said, "We're not taking any penalties." Geertsen could've forced the issue (he obviously tried to and got a misconduct for it), but maybe he could've shut up and then gone in with his elbows up later and started a ruckus that way. But... he never seemed to play over the line, or even on the edge. For me, Dunne is next (and Rochester could use him). I'd say he's 85% likely to clear waivers. Zucker --> Greenway bumps down to 4W --> Dunne is out Benson --> Rosén down Norris --> Östlund down Danforth --> new 13 since Kozak has been good (or in for Quinn or any underperforming/low-effort forward)
  21. Contracts aside....Byram. No contest, hands down. Power doesn't have the demeanor this team needs.
  22. To a degree. Even Ruff has to acknowledge that Geertsen doesn't gjve them their best chance of winning any given game when he hasn't put him in the lineup in what, 2, 3 weeks? So, this one should've been, and turned out to be a no brainer. The NEXT move is going to be the really interesting one, because don't believe they want to send any of the guys currently in the lineup down to Ra-cha-cha and they don't want to give up on any of the goalies just yet. But something has to give.
  23. Wasn't thrilled with Ellis getting the start either. BUT if he had moved ahead of Lyon in the pecking order, that set him up to get 2 of the 3 games including this weekend's games and also 2 of the 3 games next week. Personally would've given Lyon the start, Ellis the Hawks and Lyon the Canes and then go with whichever one they consider the 1 in the game on Wednesday. But they seemed to think getting Ellis 2 of these 3 starts was the better play. And now here we are once again missing an opportunity to be playing for a chance to get over NHL 0.500. Need to get past that threshold before they can get to NHL 0.600. And yes, if Adams were relieved of his duties in the AM, wouldn't be crying over it.
  24. Playing three in a row was a test of Ellis. Mixed performance against a weak but highly motivated opponent, and playing behind an uncommitted group of poorly coached and undisciplined players. Call it an Incomplete Grade.
  25. Interesting that neither Rosen or Östlund weren’t sent back down instead.
