  1. Past hour
  2. The draft is not weak at the top. It's more that it's not deep.
  3. Fair point, thinking for me is pairing that pick with something else to get the piece or pieces we need (EX: Byrum, Power, etc)
  4. Benson Helenius Kulich Östlund That's in 5yrs tbc
  5. What is Sebastian Cossa. Aka, who Buffalo should have taken.
  6. I can't get away from Carbonneau. The only flaw is decision making but I think it's a product of the Q and his team. He's got the NHL game there and he's a chaos creator.
  7. Rosen was a poor pick to begin with, but to your question he simply isn’t the right piece that Buffalo needs right now. Other teams may need a young skilled forward who might bring some offense. The Sabres already have such pieces, but lack other ones that I hope we can trade for.
  8. As you point out, addressing the goalie issue for next year is probably the most important issue for the GM this off-season. It’s too much of a risk to count on UPL. (As you noted.)
  9. Cowardice is one of the words I associate with Pegula. He has been too afraid to face the fans and media to explain himself, but rather uses GMKA as his mouthpiece and fall guy. That’s not the only word I associate with him, but it fits him IMHO
  10. I appreciate your evaluation. When I asked the question it relates to how they would do in the NHL.
  11. I think the Leafs are better at it this year, but the past two games are the result of Florida beating them down over the course of the series. Last year, the physical side was the Panther's strength: they upped the physical game and wore down opponents while being able to maintain their skill. This is what they're trying to go to Toronto and it seems to be working if Domi is any reflection of how the rest of the team is taking it.
  12. Today
  13. Define prospect for me and I can answer. Benson Kulich Helenius Östlund Would be my top 4 under 22
  14. I have seen them both in much younger days. I can't see to iconic artists not having really good bands and really good sound, so if you like their songs then I think you see a good show.
  15. I have been slowing down on the big concerts and going to smaller venues and jazz clubs. My wife wants to see Grace Potter at Art Park this summer. I am going to that. Happy wife, happy life.
  16. Yes and somebody ran Tkachuk and caught him with his head down. He may be going after Nies too. This is a series that players are starting to keep track of hits. The Panthers have a rugged team but the Leaves under Berube seem willing to answer the bell. I hope it goes 7 games
  17. Not sure exactly where you’re aiming on this one. Luukkonen is a 3-year NHL vet with 8 years in the organization and not a prospect at all. Levi is a far better prospect than UPL ever was. He was a dominant college goalie and has been a dominant AHL goalie. UPL had an an excellent 19-year-old year as an OHL MVP and WJC star, but was exceedingly mediocre in the minors, to the point there were regular threads on here with posters calling him a flat-out bust who would never be an NHL goalie. If you mean will Levi pass him soon on the actual Buffalo depth chart, I think he will, but the Sabres can not count on that happening next year. They’re goalies, so who know? Kulich is the best prospect/skater currently on Rochester.
  18. It does, and since Ruff came from Dallas and NJ he has seen how other team do things. In my line of work if a certain project is struggling and we do not change the Manager we were still responsible to identify the problems and get that person the help needed to succeed. When Terry makes no changes he is signaling he is ok with the present course they are on. Ruff could be showing him another way.
  19. At the end of that game, they showed Tkachuck pointing at the Leafs bench and I think nylander with his stick, then he makes an elbow gesture at him. Said I'm coming for you next game 😂😂 would be awesome to see him trash the Leafs leading scorer for the nonsense on Barkov. Give me that in my veins all day. Love playoff intensity and would love to see the Leafs wilt again too.
  20. Is there a single smoke detector in the entire history of mankind that started chirping in the middle of the day? I got home after midnight last night and was greeted by an end of lifespan chirp. At least now I know to buy a few extras, because the rest will go soon enough… drying the middle of the night.
  21. I don't think it got personal here with the exception of the reactions to just one poster. For the most part there are only a few squabbles here and there, and they are usually about hockey only. The Bills forum has far more drama and they are a winning team with the league MVP. The atmosphere here is consistent with April and May of the past few years of the KA regime. The fans are majorly disappointed, it is clear that the GM does not do enough to improve the team, it sucks to hear the organization make excuses for their inept performance, and worse it appears that owner is mostly ok with it. So here we are.
  22. I appreciate the members here who are knowledgeable about the Amerks and the players. Simple question: Is Kulich the best player/prospect on the team? And is Levi going to soon surpass UPL as our best goalie prospect?
  23. You want a good NHL piece in return, 9th OA, Rosen, and Samuelsson is actually an attractive offer. Rosen can't make Buffalo because we have better Rosens. You find a team (islanders maybe) that's going to do a little rebuild. You offer them 3 pieces for one and maybe that's enticing. Teams without Buffalo's prospect pool that are aging, will find a spot for Rosen. He's capable of being a 3rd line guy. Or you package 9th, Rosen, Byram, and go after someone bigger. Rosen is just another chip and teams will look at his AHL production and think "maybe he's a middle 6 guy outside of Buffalo"
  24. What moves has he made that have actively helped this team? The team has been getting worse year over year since the 91 point season under Granato. The moves he has made have hurt this team.
  25. KA lacks imagination and panics when plan A doesn't work out.
  26. When discussing trades, a number of options are explored before a deal is settled on. That's the nature of most trade transactions. You consider option A, B, C etc. Negotiating a deal isn't a quick and neat process. As you point out, there are a lot of factors and considerations that impinge on what you want to do. Most often, you settled for what you can get instead of what you want. That's the mix-bag nature of the GM position. It's unreasonable to judge a GM on any one particular deal because there are so many inhibiting factors that we are not aware of. The way to fairly judge a GM is his body of work over a period of time. On that longer time frame, KA is a dismal failure. His record is his record. The source of the failure is the owner who selected him to be the GM, and even worse kept him on way beyond the time it was evident that he wasn't up to the job.
  27. Yes, Bennett did that. But he was allowed to by the dimwitted Leafs player that chose to leave him alone. At the very least Bennett would have been forced to the short side instead of being free to cross the crease. Epic blunder by the Leafs on that goal.
