The 3 goalie thing I think is an issue. You HAVE to move one, dont' sit around and wait for a good deal. From most interviews over the years I have heard with Goalies, either during their career or after their career, they almost always mention as the #1 guy you want work, you want to play games to get into some kind of 'groove', and as a backup, you need to have a different mentality. I think Biron even said a few times there are some guys who are BETTER as backups than they would be as #1's, and some #1's, that no matter how good of an attitude they had, simply would not play as well if they got infrequent starts. Its kinda like with baseball pitchers. Some guys can be releif guys who go in whenver you want them, but other guys almost NEED to be starters. Mentally they want to know what days they will pitch and what days they will have off. Remove them from that role and the may not be as good, let alone they are going to be a lot unhappier with their role. This isn't a video game where your goalies have 'ratings' and they will play to their ratings no matter how often or infrequently you play them. I think its hurting all 3 goalies, and the team, by prolonging this. Sometimes I think this front office thinks they are plugging guys into a video game rather than playing 'real life' hockey. This team, this management causes self-inflicted wounds.

What a bunch a Twerks! 👀 After a 4-1 loss to the Jets in Winnipeg on Friday night, the Sabres are 11-13-4 through 28 games. Through 28 games last season, the Sabres had an identical 11-13-4 record. The only difference is that this season, that record is good for last place in the Eastern Conference with a .464 points percentage. -

Maybe we can trade for the goalie that made 34 saves for the Jets...he looked good -

If history repeats itself, expect the Sabres to win 9-2 their next game, they drag us all back in. Then win the game after that in overtime, then lose the game after that because they can’t win 3 in a row - Today

It is time to do something before this season goes down the tubes. Clearly this team is capable of playing well as we have seen with nice wins against some very good teams It is not too late to salvage this year but KA needs to act now...or maybe TG clears house and brings in exprienced management, Of course that will not help our goaltending but anyting would be better then doing nothing and accepting another lost season. -
Luukkonen was asked about this by a finnish journalist. He answered that he don't know where Friedmann got it from. He said that it is obvious every player wants icetime in NHL, and the irregular amount of games is difficult, but they just have to deal with the situation and be ready. He also commented on trade rumors that he like to be a Sabre and don't want a trade.

A pretty good coach out of juniors

There is no hope until Terry sells the team or dies. He is a nasty, stupid and stubborn fool who has inflicted so much suffering and pain on so many who in no way deserve it. He's a bigger lying fraud than Peter Karmanos.

I think it has looked bleaker but it's definitely very bleak right now. It will be bleakest when Tuch walks for nothing and Dahlin and/or Thompson asks for a trade. -

Nah, get back to battling through it. A little brush on the goalie should be nothing. Only clear indisputable interference called. They want more goals don't they?

But you didn't see Tuch's egregious turnover at the blue line that led to goal #2, or the keystone cop line change that led to goal #3? You just know UPL's sv% was 8-something. Okay. -

You don't really know what you have in goal when you endlessly stress them with sloppy play. Good teams simply don't leave their goalies hanging like we do. -

.590 point percentage is what gets you into that last playoff spot in the east right now (96.8 point pace). As of this moment, for the Sabres to get to that level, they have to win the next 9 in a row. 9 wins in a row and you will 'probably' be in 8th in the conference. They are tied for least points in the confernece. They have the worst point percentage in the conference. They have the worst goal differential in the conference. They have lost 4 of their last 6 and this is with them getting mostly healthy. So much for the injury excuse too. This team could be 100 percent healthy, or they could have a record number of injuries...it doesn't seem like it would matter. Either way they would/will finish 10 points out of the playoffs (at least) -

And have said it before, and at this point it really isn't a knock on Bryson, who is who he is and when not asked to do too much is actually playing well in that 7thD pressed into duty play, but want either Johnson or Novikov (or some other 7th guy that has a D-1st focus) in the lineup which does 2 things - 1 it gives Power a defensive partner to let him freewheel as much as he wants and more importantly, if Byram and Timmins aren't working, you can break Byram and Timmins up without having to take Samuelsson Dahlin apart and without giving Byram a partner he won't be able to be effective with. (If it isn't working with defensive 1st D-man Timmins, give him the other one, and let Timmins go bcak to playing with Power who did look good together earlier this year.) -

If it were simply a binary choice of keep the current system or go back to no reviews at all, would likely reluctantly go to no reviews. But, it doesn't have to be all or nothing. Already said how this kid would fix the offside challenge. For goalie interference, wonder if something like adding a 2nd "crease" 18 inches (or whatever distance makes the most sense) outside the actual crease might allow them to make that a more cut and dried endeavor. ANY contact with the goalie or his equipment that is within the blue paint is goalie interference UNLESS the defenseman drove the offensive player into the blue paint OR the puck was uncovered inside the crease. If the offensive player was outside the yellow (or whatever color they choose) paint when the D made contact that drove the offensive player into the goalie then if he makes ANY effort at avoiding the goalie, it's a good goal. If that offensive player is in the yellow paint when the contact with the D begins then it's goalie interference. Simple. Might result in some plays that should've been interference to go uncalled and vice versa but its easy to implement and people will finally know again just what goalie interference is. Maybe you even enlarge the blue paint about 6" to allow for the goalie's glove being outside the blue paint when a stick or arm bumps against it impeding the movement which would bring a judgement call back into play. And you still can't intentionally check a goalie inside or outside the crease. Wouldn't that result in D-men intentionally checking F's into their goalie when he's inside that yellow paint? Well, it could. But D that start regularly breaking their goalies by running F's on top of them won't be long for this league. Just spitballin' that goalie interference idea. Hadn't really given much if any thought to how to fix that issue prior to this post. So, get to a spot where OBVIOUS missed calls are now fixed and close judgement calls are left to the refs' judgement.
