How many dishes did you break per day? On payday did you end up owing more $$$ to the company than you ended up with on payday? 😀

It was Roma's Restaurant in Genesee in Cheetowaga, just west of Union.  Boss didn't charge for broken plates.  I didn't break any most nights but I broke a few.  I could load a tray just about that fast too.

I got the job because a guy, Jeff, I rode the bus to school with worked there and he heard I was looking for a job.  They had an opening and the owner told him to bring me along on Friday and he would show me the ropes.  I got there and the busboy was a no show so they sent Jeff home to change into busboy clothes and fill in for him.  Before he left he showed me how the machine worked.  It was busy, especially for a Friday night and I got slammed.  I couldn't look up until about 9:30.  I saw the boss and asked him if I was hired and he just grinned back.  I worked there two years before leaving for college.  Learned how to make pizzas, salads and sandwiches too.

I made $2.70 an hour to start which I thought was pretty good money- a whole nickel over minimum wage!

Over a decade later I went there with my family to show them where I used to work.  The owner remembered me and comped the whole meal.  That was cool.

I don’t think Jarmo has had anything to do with the fiasco.  The fiasco was in place when he got here.

I hate to write this but Doan and Timmins were solid off-season acquisitions and the PK and overall defense are improved year over year. The issue remains a failure to upgrade the goaltending, and get top 6 playmaking help.  These issues are nothing new and that ultimately is Adam’s ultimate sin.  He tinkered with the bottom of the roster, never addressed the key issues and the his rebuild has failed.

The defense is improved!?

I can't agree. What you just described is the opposite of how it works.

If Adams is POHO with no influence on hockey operations then he is not a POHO and should not be given the title.   Adams has enough self respect to not take a figurehead job.  Pegula would not do that to him either.

This is a business, its hockey business, and personal feelings are not the first priority in any sports business world.  Executives get paid a lot, they work in a cut throat environment, POHO/GM is a results oriented job, and they get fired when their time is up.

This is where I am. The concern is if Terry feels he isn’t being to listen to having Adams in the chain of command as a fallback option would be overly tempting

That's fair

Great story. I once was being interviewed for a job. He brought up my job history and the stepping stone jobs that I had when young. I made the point to him that there is no such thing as a menial job. That whatever job one had was to be done well and with pride. He was impressed.

However, although the interview went well, I wasn’t hired.

😂 Watching the games this is hard to believe. Opposing players can still skate right to our crease and Owen Power will just look at them.

Timmins & bottom 4 D have been bad (Timmons playing up on 2nd pair - he is 3rd pair).

TP, Adams’ & FO ineptitude have put a pox on the House of ⚔️
Low trade volume: Adams inability to make ANY DECISION, big trades, etc., compared to peer GMs (Insert 🌴&💰excuse here).

Adams is laughed at & not respected by the rest of the NHL.

He should take his Stanley cup ring and go….

Whether they wanted this story out there (a leak) or not, they have to do something soon if they plan on doing it at all, right?

I don't think the questions on this will go away...and if they drag this out it will do nothing more than make a segment of your fanbase go from hopeful all the way to resentful again.

I think Power gets blamed on this board too much. BUT, I think his play has regressed a bit in the last 2 weeks. Earlier in the year, I thought he got blamed for too much that wasn't his fault as I saw some improvments in his own end, but even I'm getting worried about his play this year.

As for the overall team defense, I do think they are a bit better overall compared to last year, supported by the analytics. Now, that is compared to LAST year that they are better, thats not a high bar to clear. They can be better than last year and still not be very good.
