Seriously, the business part is easy IF AND ONLY IF the team wins more than it loses. Success on the ice will result in success off the ice. Simple as that. No way around it. 1 Quote

PASabreFan Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago So the daughter is the succession plan when the father can no longer go on? Intrasting. The parallels are haunting. The walkway by Alumni Plaza is still there tho. Quote

I just want anybody else at the top at this point. Between Laura and Jessie, I want whichever one will screams "I don't know enough about hockey to be making these decisions. Let me go get a real life professional" the loudest is my first choice. 1 Quote

Choosing a new GM is a tough and challenging issue for every owner. Smart owners seek out advice from outside voices who are knowledgeable about the hockey business. On the other hand, a sure way to flub the critical decision is to act out whim and hire someone so patently unqualified that the no other owner would have even considered him for the job let alone selected him. And to compound this stupendously bad selection is to keep this person in his critical position after his failed extended service. It makes no freaking sense. Quote

Some people have one opinion, some have a different opinion. My fear is that Pegula, no matter how many people he talks to, isn't going to pick the 'best' person for the job. Instead he is going to pick someone who he feels comfortable with. Someone who will make him feel 'heard' on personal decisions, someone who won't make him upset when he talks to him. Quote

You are describing an owner who prefers to be surrounded by sycophants who will treat an unserious and unknowledgeable hockey owner as if he is a serious and knowledgeable hockey person. Quote
