The Civil Suit was full of holes and the parents lawyer was a crook. I'm not even sure if the Civil Suit ever went anywhere. Not to mention this was something like 40 years ago. Sure sure, and Carter Hart's an angel and it's just a coincidence he's teammates now with Brett Howden. They're all innocent. There never was a rape culture in hockey and never will be. Gotcha. 1 Quote

He was a hard working, two-way forward, and a grinder. He could really get the crowd going with his reckless style, he literally "spun" around out there on just about every shift, like a battling top. Yes, tragic ending but kind of crazy. He wasn't just a battling top, he was dirty. He caused havoc. Him and Dudley together was an awesome line. Wasn't as much of a rat as Marchand but he had his share of altercations that he initiated. 1 Quote

Of course I know what you meant, but I'm not ever going to praise Dougie Gilmour. I knew people who worked at Maple Leaf Gardens that said they were still covering for him in Toronto well past the St. Louis incident. Dude was scum. 1 Quote

I get that Gilmore was a scumbag but he was also a great player. I wasn't praising Gilmore, I was praising Benson. 1 Quote

Yeah, Barnaby was a scrappy, Eddie Shore type player. But I don’t recall him being a dirty player like Marchand. Then again, I could be misremembering. Quote

RETURNTOGLORY Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago Marchand slammed his stick across Dahlins Back/Neck. That should have been 10 games. Toronto could have assisted the refs on this one. 1 Quote

But that is not Benson and never will be so I ain't worried in the least. As someone posted elsewhere, Benson is Dougie Gilmore more than anyone else currently. The licking was certainly a low class act. No matter what you think of him as a player you can’t criticize him for not always playing with passion and effort. To show you that I do have some standards, if he would have French kissed another player on the ice, I would retract my positive comments about him. An affectionate rat on the ice is not something I will tolerate. 🫣 Quote

I am not gonna lie... watching him meltdown was freaking hysterical... Dahlin got his helmet fixed and Thompson got him off.. no harm or foul... but the getting knocked on as a$$ the return check when he was going after him and the epic meltdown was worth the price of admission... I have standards for players and the classless need not apply. Quote
