Said it before, say it again….

The Sabres brand is damaged so severely that an overwhelming number of the leagues impact players will not consider coming here. It’s not merely a matter of how those players view the 14 years dwelling in the basement, it’s the players that have been here with their escape from Buffalo stories.

Under This Pegulas ownership, no matter his intention, the Sabres name and logo now represent the worst case scenario for players careers, their hopes, dreams, aspirations, their internal fires for compete and glory in the hockey arenas. No player will willingly come here unless is for monetary gain, the retirement run as it were, where they don’t have to worry about working hard and winning.

That encapsulates what Sabres name and logo have become.

I think we're far, far from this reality. We're not the dumpster fire the Oilers were pre and post McDavid. We're not the Coyotes/Mammoth, We're not the Blackhawks we have more reason for hope near term than the Ducks and Sharks.

There are a lot of bad teams in hockey right now, and we're certainly one of them, but I don't think it's anywhere near as dire as you make it seem. There's nothign wrong with the brand. We start winning some games and the "brand" will be just as good as the Bills.

I just hope at this point to see a Stanley Cup before I'm dead... A guy can dream!

Yeah I’m 58 now, I’ve completely given up on the Sabres ever doing anything in my lifetime. My only hope now is the Bills win one before I’m gone.

The leagues impact players have never considered Buffalo.

Yes they did, I remember, I’m that old.

I think you know what I mean.  It's definitely been much longer than the Pegula ownership.  You're even admitting we have to be pretty old to remember that.

I'm 50 and it's been a long time.

It's pretty simple points

- he frees up more free time for other activities by guaranteeing there won't be anything going on from around April til August

- can make more money renting out the arena for other events from April to around September without the risk of having scheduling conflicts due to last-minute playoffs

- less staff required to keep the arena running when they can shut down sections due to fans staying home

- save money on dinners at fancy restaurants not dining with top tier free agents convincing them to come here

And if all of that failed to knock Terry's socks off, he pulled out photos of Terry spending private time with Hailey Steinfeld and threatens to send them to Josh.......

Create a perennial contender and they absolutely will...  the taxes and palm trees excuse is horrific.  Players who want to win as part of their DNA want to go to winners.... the ones that want a country club or just to get paid I don't want.  Look at the Bills... people are taking pay cuts to stay here... win, create a winning culture and attract players that find this valuable...  and this narrative goes away.   Continue to let the Eichel's and the Reinhardts of the world walk or the Dahlin's and the Tuch's and Thompsons into the future and you get what you always got...  this isnt about geography, its about culture and opportunity.

The Sabres are a bottom 5 destination in the NHL full stop.

A franchise that was once (the day Pegula purchased) the 4 most winning franchise in the league (total P%) has plummeted to 14th in 14 years.

I don't think you understand just how consistently bad a team has to be to do that so that me explain what it would take to try and climb out of that hole.

If you took Scotty Bowman's 10 best individual years as a HC, and you linked them allllllll together for Buffalo, the  Sabres still wouldn't get back to 4th. You'd take the 10 best years ever, from the best NHL coach ever, win 6 Stanley Cups, and still that would not be enough to correct this teams historical stats.

That's insane. The Sabres under Pegula have literally been worse than Scotty Bowman was great. So much worse that the greatest 10 year run to ever (hypothetically) be coached wouldn't be enough to average it out.

If we're not the Coyotes then we're pretty effing close.

The Sabres aren’t merely bottom 5, they are the bottom destination in the NHL.

The insane amount of talent that has been here over the course of these past 14 seasons, nearly all of which were running out of here after realizing just how much damage to their careers success was being done, is historical. The owner and management teams he hired will most likely never be matched in complete failure as has been done here.

incompetence, inexperience, bad judgement, call it all of these and more, but….wow, just wow on how horribly wrong things have gone since Galisano and Quinn botched the Drury/Briere fiasco. The brand is so damaged to nhl players that it boggles the mind.

I will take your insane and raise you an oblivion... this level of ineptitude and plummet in overall P% hasnt occured with sparks of success in between... this is 14 years and running... 23 year old players were 9 the last time the Sabres made the playoffs...  they were 3 the last time there was success... the only narrative they have on the Sabres is perennial loser... always... no hope... dysfunction....  they don't remember the French Connection or Lafontaine and Mogilny  and their entire careers have been filled with the we are fleeing hockey hell from other players...  to them the Sabres are incompetent like water is wet...  that is a brutal narrative to change... especially as we head into a 15th year of dysfunction... literally how can we not be a top 2 bottom destination...
