I’ve reviewed the video of that play.  I did see Samuelson move into the post hit gathering and give someone a push.   That’s more than you’d likely get out of Power.  Nobody else on the ice did anything.

No excuse, He is your biggest player and wears a letter.

Did we?

So what are we looking at now? (assuming Byram is moved)

Dahlin - Samuelsson????

Power-Kesselring

Bernard Docker-Clifton

Bryson

Does that actually inspire confidence in you???

I'd say we need more.

That's why I said I think. Nobody can answer the question until about 15-20 games into the season.

Muel needs to go. He's way too soft and injury prone to be penciled in as a consistent contributor as far as what this team needs.

Dahlin - TBD

Power-Kesselring

Bernard Docker-Clifton

Kesserling inspires hope that Power's softness will be offset, not confidence.

All of this is why I said we have other assets we can trade to get the pieces we need. However, I do not think we will get all of the pieces we need. Based on last year and our current roster we need a new 1LW, top pair Dman, a true 1C (Norris has never filled that role), and possibly a new starting goalie.

TBD TBD TNT

Zucker Norris/Kulich Tuch

Greenway McLeod Benson

Malenstyn Krebs Doan

Now everyone is gonna ask what about Kulich and Quinn. What about them? One has negligible NHL experience and the other came into last season woefully unprepared and sucked for most of the season. I'm not saying to write them off. I'm saying they are not dependable top six forwards until they consistently show they are dependable top six forwards. But they need opportunity. Ok, Quinn pissed away an entire season of opportunity and will have to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt. Kulich I am more open to seeing what he can do.

Next will be Benson. The guy who can't finish scoring chances? 25 year old Benson should be a real good top six forward. 20 year old Benson is not yet there.

Kulich, Norris, Quinn, and Benson all show promise but hinging a big part of team success on four guys to stay healthy and reach that potential does not inspire any confidence.

At this point I would want to keep Byram with Dahlin. Package the 9th OA with Kulich or Norris and whatever else you need to find a 1C. If Quinn fixes himself and plays well enough or even Zucker, then one of them can move into the 1LW and the other fills the 2LW.

But this is where we are at after our GM built a young, soft team. IMO we can't hope guys are able to fill roles based on the last 15 games of another failed season where they were all playing with no pressure.  If anyone thinks we are ok with Benson starting the season in the top six, Norris as 1C, and Muel in the top four then they forfeit the right to complain when we miss the playoffs again.
