As @Thorny points out the overwhelming response is positive. You are the one who is being negative, or more accurately anticipating it. How long will the good vibes last? GASabresIUFAN Posted Friday at 11:25 PM Report Posted Friday at 11:25 PM Just saw the news. This is a perfectly good choice. Now will Adams listen? I doubt it, but you never know. I’d say the odds of JJP being traded just dropped. 1 Quote

No, but will we wait until the end of next season to turn negative? Everyone wants to be the first to say "I told you so." People are already hedging their bets saying this move changes nothing. 1 Quote

You're hedging too by taking this line btw fyi "See I said every one would get negative" that's hedging. Who the ***** cares if you're right or in right? I doubt it, but you never know. Hard not to like the hire. I am not worried if Adams will listen or not, they wouldn't have hired him if he wasn't willing to listen. My question is what is his role? Will be he involved daily? Will he be included on every trade discussion? At every scouting meeting? Will he be attending games? Sabres once had Craig Patrick in a similar role, who was very visible in the early parts in the Pegula suite and even on the road, made several radio hits and then just disappeared. I'm not even sure if we know exactly when he left the Sabres org or what impact (if any) he even had? 7 minutes ago, GASabresIUFAN said: I don’t see Jarmo believes in trading away his best young players. He's not the GM. He can have an opinion to keep him but he ain't steering the ship. Just like i assume Karmanos and Ventura will have a say. 2 minutes ago, JohnC said: If that’s the case I salute him and like him even more. Based on his record he is not afraid of making deals. I think you are over reading the situation based on your worries about the franchise history. I mean it's hard to say what he will do or suggest. It's almost June 1, and most of the big moves like Peterka and Byram will be finalized within 3-4 weeks. He probably doesn't have much to say one way or another tbh. Quote
Huckleberry Posted yesterday at 12:48 AM Report Posted yesterday at 12:48 AM Might be just be my view, lets not take it into any sports related stuff. But your company is doing not so well, not close to bankrupt (14 yr no- playoff phantom zone) but just some bad years. No real company is run like our beloved team... But new manager comes in, who everyone knows is capable of being a gm, your current manager (gm) who probably already got new jobs lined up is on the clock That is how I see this, if end november we still suck , the change is easy. Also if you guys think this doesn't bother Terry pegula, I think it does. 1 Quote
gomper Posted yesterday at 12:50 AM Report Posted yesterday at 12:50 AM I think some of you are missing the point. Finally, an adult in the room with a successful past, other than Lindy. Will it work? That's anyone's guess but having an experienced voice in the organization is a positive thing. We'll see. 3 1 Quote
Thorny Posted yesterday at 12:52 AM Report Posted yesterday at 12:52 AM (edited) The more I think about this, the more it feels like Jarmo is essentially the shadow GM. Adams mannerisms didn’t line up with a guy still in charge, really. This guy has the experience…I think he’s the guy the non formalization at this time is merely pegula antics to save face Edited yesterday at 12:52 AM by Thorny 1 Quote
