They'll get there, but shortening the bench hurts the entire team overall when they lack the defense and strength to be trusted in the third. Teams get big leads. Score effects, as always remain a thing: but with the raw amount of goals going up, it simply translates to greater swings in differential relatively this happening to the Sabres is normal. Plenty of Sabres turnovers and pucks flipping over sticks instead of crisp passes.
