Sabres sign Jacob Josefsson

Hopefully he spends most of his time in Rochester or the press box.

Does one of you guys who follow the Amerks closely know the details of the limits of NHL experience rules?

How close are they getting?

It's a pro game limit and it's based on the number of guys dressed. Since the AHL is a developmental league, teams are required to dress 12 skaters with 260 games or less of pro experience (NHL, AHL and major Euro leagues) and 1 player with 320 games or less of pro experience. The other 5 skaters have no limits.

Griffiths is actually at 261 pro games. Therefore he qualifies for the 13th developmental skater position.

Tennyson is at 283. Bailey is at 162. Porter is at 606 and only qualifies as one of the 5 non-developmental skaters.

I think Griffith is this years Grant, but I was wondering about this move.

We can move Girgensons to wing at any time. Just move Reinhart to center and give one of Bailey, Baptiste or Fasching a real chance in the NHL.

A spine of Jack, ROR, Reinhart and Larsson looks a lot better then Jack, ROR, Larsson and Josefson.

That said, I reading some Devils posts about Josefson and it seems that this guy is an excellent Pker and shootout specialist. Two skills we desperately need

Those players are all going to play lots of minutes in Rochester to get more seasoning than to come up and sit around playing 5 minutes a night on the 4th line.

What good will that do them?  Either put them on a top  line or keep them down there.

Yep tbots has signed a lot of under the radar UFAs. I'm especiLly excited about Rochester. I think they will be good, which will be good for our you kids' development. This was GMTMs biggest failure.

We still have ample camp room, I think he still has one big move left, hopefully a trade for a LW. Would love a Jagr signing, as long as one of our RWers could play the offwing, or maybe a n of our centers moving to LW??

"Ouchtown, population you, bro" courtesy of Jake McCabe:

And, of course, the most important question: if he makes the team, what number will he wear?  Obviously 16 is out.  He wore 40 when he was younger, but Lehner's got that.  Then, he were 10 in Albany, which would be my guess.  That, or maybe Max's old number.

Random thought about that clip: the Devils were skating three guys name -son, one -sen, and Zacha.
