I went with Lucic. Might be I don't see ROR play much.

Lucic 24g and 18g last two years

O'Reilly 28g and 17g last two years

Lucic 35a and 26a last two years

O'Reilly 36a and 38a last two years

Statistically ROR is better.

PIMS aren't even close though. ROR almost never in the box.

I think the Sabres have more Centers than wings these days. Or it sure feels like it.

So do you want O'Reilly or Lucic? Everything you said after the first statement support O'Reilly.

There should be a a greater statistical advantage for O'Reilly to make sense on passing on Lucic size, physicality and toughness.

O'Reilly's age is a fair point, being only 24 going into next season. He'd need to be cheaper in both assets to acquire and salary in order for it to be a good deal for the Sabres. Lucic is one of a kind, I'd pay to have that one of kind player in the Blue & Gold. To think you can piece together multiple players to give you what Lucic can is the same old Regierian thought process that hurt this franchise for years.

Presumably, if Lucic is as important as many here seem to think, then he was a major contributing factor to the Bruins being a shell.

Lucic certainly should have gotten more in return when he traded Seguin and Boychuk

How about O'Reilly is at the top of the NHL in forced turnovers while being near the bottom of the league in PM which means his defensive game is top of league.  But hey keep taking that Lucic Viagra ©

Lucic: one of the 10 best players in the NHL?

I can come up with 10 better players. Unfortunately, none of them are likely to be available anytime soon.

Lucic is the #1 big man in he NHL.

lol, you think +/- means something, this is pointless.  You love Lucic so have it him.  Just buy syrup first.

107 differential, I can see why you would need +/- to be pointless.

Can't pretend it's a ######, cuz when your eating ###### your eating ######.

I said arguing with you was pointless but this is America so I assume people fail at reading comprehension.  There is more to defensive stats than just +/-.  Also Lucic would be the 4th best LW on the Sabres not counting Zemgus.  But hey like I said, keep plugging away.  You're on a mission and as of right now, I no longer give a .

Using +/- to judge the defensive game of two players?

Do you actually think Lucic is a better defensive player than ROR?

Lucic and O"Reilly are completely different players with Lucic being far and away the better overall player. That means offensively, defensively, toughness, physicality and probably plays a better goal.

More great insight.

I had no idea how rampant the post-Nov 12th, 2011 concussion-syndrome still is in Sabres Nation.

I don't even know what else to say. He was literally invisible for a stretch of about 10 straight Bruins games I streamed. Did nothing, looked lost, scared no one. Every Bruins fan I know is done with him.

And if the B's are willing to throw him away, I'd be more than willing to scoop him up for a modest price. Kick the tires and see if he's worth a contract next off season.
