The Marble Rye is my all-time favorite episode. The moment at the end where he turns from the window with the marble rye in one hand and the fishing pole in the other (attached by the line) to see Susan and her parents is still incredible when I see it.

"Puddy gets ahold of this one and makes a great move...." Elaine: "He did.....The Move." Jerry: "....*my* Move?" Also loved the "low talker" interviewer.

The Golden State Warriors used to have "The City" uniforms in the 60s and early 70s. Throwbacks: There must be other examples though.

When we drafted Grigorenko and Girgensons, a lot of people talked about those two becoming our 1 and 2 centers, respectively someday. That all went out the window when the Tank program started and we've been talking about Reinhart and (hopefully) McEichel being the guys someday. But watching Girgensons this season -- as a 20 year old -- I'm starting to wonder what his ceiling actually is. Could he be the no.2 center on a contender in ~3 years? It definitely doesn't seem nuts when you consider the one-on-one battles he wins and the moves he pulls off on breakaways. Fingers crossed.

There might already be some brotherhood since they were in training camp together and played together on our Traverse City team last year. They would have again a few months back but I think Baptiste's shoulder was already hurt then. Plus they're both signed and have probably done the math about joining Rochester together next year (and possibly late this year if their teams miss the OHL playoffs).

Baptiste scored tonight, and Bailey got an assist. Bailey scored in the shootout and Baptiste did not, but Sudbury got the win after six rounds.

Tampa Bay has had the same colors for their entire history; blue just switched with black as the primary. The Kings have thin vertical stripes and massive horizontal stripes on their sleeves; the Bolts just have thick vertical stripes. The only thing I'd change for Tampa is make the lightning bolt on the pants white so that it pops. I actually wish this was their template for the home and road jerseys. I'm a little iffy on "BOLTS" but I've always liked the diagonal word jerseys and if their fans like "BOLTS", fine by me. http://www.icethetics.co/blog/2014/9/27/lightning-return-to-black-with-new-third-jersey-reveal

So in Strome's first 2 games without McDavid, he has 1 goal (last night) and 1 assist (Friday). Tonight in the OHL, it's Baptiste (Sudbury) versus Bailey (Kitchener) at 6pm ET. Sure, maybe. If there's not much difference between McDavid and Eichel, I'd definitely be open to trading down a spot for Eichel.

Who do you want to be here for the future?

I voted back when this thread started and I had: Deslaurier Foligno Gionta Girgensons Kaleta Moulson Gorges Not sure why I didn't click Ennis since I've never really been down on him. I'm ready to move Myers for the right return. I still like Foligno -- he and Deslaurier are pretty similar (same age, same style). Foligno has 50 hits in 13 games and Deslaurier has 65 hits in 19 games. I just wish he could stay healthy because he's always battling something. Obviously these guys could be great 4th liners but I also think if you were trying to construct a shut-down checking 3rd line, they have the potential to play wing there as well. Kaleta -- 4th line all the way but when you're trying to change the culture, he's exactly what you'd want. Has he ever mailed it in? Gionta -- not sure he has anything left in the tank at this point. Gorges -- defends teammates, block shots. Yes, please. Moulson -- despite his terrible start, people forgot how consistently good he's been over the years. I like the idea of Reinhart getting him the puck. Girgensons -- he's good now and he's still probably ~3 years from hitting his prime. Also, how far out are we projecting? I was just thinking the next 3 years or so when we're turning things around. And that actually makes me want Stewart here as well. We're breaking in a lot of rookies the next couple years and I want someone around to police the ice. The fact that he challenged Lucic to a fight just to pump up his team is still incredible to me after watching the last few seasons. Neuvirth in net, BTW. -

I just re-read it and I think I agree with every assessment in there. Maybe the Myers and Stewart ones are a bit optimistic but they're not nuts. -
I actually think they look pretty good. Simple design and high contrast colors. http://scores.espn.go.com/nhl/photos?gameId=400564160&photoId=4295674

Which parts do you disagree with? -
Even if we get McDavid and Grigorenko turns into Malkin, it'll still be at least 40 years before the Sabres are even in the discussion for a playoff spot again.
-
Carrier is still 19 and leads the Amerks in +/- at +10. I'd say the early returns on him are very good.

Not even the AHL, at least for a few more hours.

Bills. Sabres are on WBEN. -
He hasn't played any games yet in the AHL, and is making his AHL debut tomorrow: http://www.mlive.com/griffins/index.ssf/2014/11/anthony_mantha_to_make_debut_f.html Interested to see how he does.

There's also a "Page 1 of 322" at the top of the threads and you can type '322' in the "go to" part. I just did that and looked at what was on the last/oldest page.

Well, Stafford did turn out to be pretty consistent. We know what to expect every year.

And you can find gems like this: http://forums.sabres...ospects-in-wjc/ The end has no end.

I wouldn't need much more than Larkin. Then trade someone else for defense.

Sabres are probably adding Grigo, Armia, and Reinhart as forwards next year and that's before you consider anyone we might draft. GMTM is going to have to make a bunch of moves for our 2015-2016 team to make any sense.- 311 replies

Yeesh. I try not to think about that. :( Regarding Strome, if you check out the Otters' highlights or just the box scores, it's sticks out how many PP goals are collaborations between him and McDavid. Then there's the checking line part. Then there's the part where he's suddenly the centerpiece for his team for the first time in the CHL. If his game doesn't fall off or, better yet, if he can step up, maybe he can make himself the no.4 overall pick this year. I want to believe.

The already-in-the-organization core, IMO, is Girgensons, Ristolainen, and Reinhart. Zadorov is no.4 and Nichushkin would be no.5, following by Grigorenko. Plus a top-3 pick in 2015 immediately becomes the top guy in our core. I also think the "Russian factor" is significantly mitigated when you're talking about guys that came here as teenagers to play even before they were drafted (or in Nichushkin's case, right after). When you hear Grigorenko speak now, his accent is pretty mild. Compare that to Afinogenov who didn't show up in North American until he was ~20 and didn't speak English for a long time. And, of course, at the end of the day, you just want the most talented team.
