Sounders are the Seattle soccer team that actually does really well. All my yuppie friends out there don't like sports....except for soccer because it's a "world" sport or something. As for how many Vancouver fans will come down, I'm guessing all of them. Tons of Canadians live in Seattle already so it'll be at least as bad as the Maple Leafs games in Buffalo. The drive is a little longer but a lot prettier so there isn't going to be much hesitation up north. Also, if Seattle gets a team they need to use the Thunderbirds nickname and jerseys/logo because they'll immediately have one of the coolest identities in the league: Quebec City needs to get a team again one way or another (Coyotes or expansion).

It is pretty cool that Rolston doesn't seem to care who the "name" players are, or where everyone was drafted, or who's being paid what, or who used to be good. It's a nice jolt of reality for our comatose roster. I already hope we keep Rolston in the organization as the Rochester coach next year.

I could be wrong, but I think HF has a different writer cover and grade the prospects for each team. So the grades for the two players may not make sense because they were done by different people.

The plot moves at a snail's pace. I watch a couple episodes a season and I never feel like I miss all that much. The Walking Dead is pretty much the AMC version of the Buffalo Sabres. Awesome in theory, but mostly one dimensional characters in a slow, boring plot that goes nowhere.

My guess is that Elias Lindholm is the absolute best we can hope for. I've also decided that they'll pass on whatever player is available that I'd like the most and reach for someone else. Hockey Purgatory continues.

Possibly Kassian if he doesn't step it up. That trade is by far his gutsiest though and a total outlier from his MO.

Lots of Sabres fans are still under the spell of Concept of Gerbe. He's like an idealized, personified Buffalo, NY. A scrappy underdog who overcomes his teeny tiny stature to achieve great things and prove all the naysayers wrong. And if we just BELIEVE hard enough it'll all be true. (He probably scores a goal or two tonight because I wrote this.)

I could live with that. The notion that they need to finish strong because it can carry over into next season doesn't work for me. They finished strong each of the last two seasons and they've started the last two seasons (including this one) horribly. They can lose as many as they want. They'll still be 0-0 in October.
