  1. No, it's awesome that our rebuild will apparent extend into the 2015 draft. Why not ask about some 2016 picks?
  2. And you'd have to draft someone this year for them to be ready to contribute in 2017.
  3. We're going to showcase him tomorrow night and then trade him for a 2021 draft pick.
  4. Awesome. That 2015 pick is really going to help our big rebuild.
  5. Trade just got kinda crappy.
  6. Cool. One last chance for Adam.
  7. Florida's 5th?
  8. Hecht too. Someone should want him as a PK specialist for the playoffs. A 4th or 5th doesn't seem crazy.
  9. I hope we didn't turn down a chance to get a late first rounder from someone else. Decent return, I guess.
  10. I'd be thrilled to trade Regehr to anyone for a 1st round pick. I'd feel a little weird about moving Pominville to Montreal though and I'm not sure what they could offer us in terms of prospects.
  11. There's no way he hasn't already "seen what's out there" for Pominville. He wouldn't ask unless he liked what was out there and is hoping to complete a deal. Just asking Poms to submit this list hurts his relationship with the team and probably decreases any chance of him signing an extension. You wouldn't ask him to submit this list and then start calling other teams about him. Unless you're totally incompetent......uh oh........ .....
  12. Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC1m #Amerks G Nathan Lieuwen was lifted after 1st period of Saturday's game at Hamilton with "upper body injury." Thus, recall of Connor Knapp.
  13. Who do you have in mind and why would a team trade such a player?
  14. I'm sure the Sabres have been talking to other teams about him for a while already. If the team they were closest to a deal with is one they think he'd block, they'd probably ask him to just waive the thing altogether. Maybe if they're just asking for the list, they figure their potential trade partner won't be on it. (Or something. Who knows?) Lots of playoff teams in the bottom half of the league in goals per game: http://espn.go.com/nhl/statistics/team/_/stat/scoring/year/2013/seasontype/2
  15. Picks and prospects are my preferred return. A good rule of thumb for trades is that whichever team lands the single best player won the trade. So I'm not getting better by trading one of Vanek/Poms/Miller for 2-3 NHL players who aren't as good. At least with prospects and picks, you have a chance to land the best player in the deal -- even if he may not be the best player for a few years.
  16. I'm expecting us to trade none of these guys for the simple reason that it's really hard to imagine an exciting trade involving the Buffalo Sabres. Kassian for Hodgson was pretty good last year and the Drury trade was 10 years ago. And what was the biggest trade before that? We're not a franchise that makes waves. I'd be happy to trade Miller and Pominville. I'm not super psyched about re-signing Miller with a new contract that starts when he's 34 and Pominville's collapse after Ruff was fired isn't super encouraging. I'm also not sure why the prices for any of these guys should be higher in the summer when teams have way more options. The whole point of deadline deals is that teams are desperate to win NOW. If you're really interested in winning the Cup in the next few months, your prospects and draft picks seems a lot less interesting this week. Plus there shouldn't be too many teams selling this week.
  17. This year. MLB is attempting awkward 15 team leagues now. (Expansion is coming. It's only a matter of time.) ESPN had it at $18M last night during the broadcast (yes, I switched over a few times during the Bruins-Sabres thing). Their entire team makes less than a bunch of the star players make.
  18. I don't want him learning anything from the 2013 Buffalo Sabres.
  19. More of this would be awesome.
  20. Blame Chz. Can we as a society just cancel this retarded tradition already? This is the day where every unfunny person you know says something horrible/ridiculous just to get you to say "What?" so that they can say "April Fools!" "Did you hear about the explosion at the mall?" "What?" "...April Fools!!!" Hilarious. Every year.
  21. Don't apologize for anything.
  22. Yep, different in that only one thing pertains to hockey. The other was just thoughtless and obnoxious.
  23. Check out page 1 of this GDT and tell me the fans celebrating the loss are worse.
