  1. I can't believe they call embelleshment when the other commits a legitimate foul.
  2. Just before the game I did my good deed for the day. I helped a neighbor round up a couple of pups and posted about them on local social media. Their owner came to get them. 🙂 Gentle giants!
  3. Benson-Kulich-Thompson Peterka-McLeod-Quinn Zucker-Krebs-Tuch Kulich is an experiment but with Tage on the wing, who else do you put at 1C? I don't think Kulich is a 1C at this point but you don't put him between JJP and Quinn; too much inexperience there. Benson seems to be showing complementary chemistry with Tage. Is that a first line? Maybe not, but it's not a bad line. JJP and Quinn need a center with some experience and defensive responsibility. They're clicking with each other right now and McLeod is the glue that holds the line together. Zucker-Krebs-Tuch isn't a defensive line per se, but they're all defensively responsible as a unit and with Krebs providing the spark they're a pretty good energy line. Against another team's 3rd line I would expect Zucker's experience and Tuch's scoring touch to win the battle. I like the makeup of these three lines to be honest, given the roster construction.
  4. But for the players already on the team, it's the coach, not the GM, who is tasked with putting "the players in the best position to succeed," no?
  5. Isn't that the coach's job? On this year's team, is seems like Zucker is kind of that guy. Doesn't play on the top two lines, not really a checker. He's a third liner and playoff specialist (not so much in terms of shooting, more by tip-ins and rebounds).
  6. But their Fortnight game is elite.
  7. Krebs is rounding into a pretty decent player. The mental gaffs seem to be diminishing and even though he's still not as strong on his pins as I'd like him to be, he pops back up pretty quickly and doesn't give up the play. I've seen a few instances where he's broken up odd man rushes by just putting his head down and skating hard (something Owen Power should learn).
  8. Watched a replay of the Krebs goal and you can see he delayed just a bit at the blue line to make sure he was onsides. Good hockey IQ there.
