  1. THIS JUST IN: BUFFALO BILLS SIGN UFA PIZZA LOGS
  2. I just picked up a bottle a little while ago, and the first few sips I've had were very good. I, obviously, need to drink more of it. Maybe tonight's a good night for Laphroaig. I haven't yet. I'll keep it mind. Thankfully I have a lot of things on the shelf I need to work on.
  3. It's entirely possible I saw this posted here, forgot, then reposted it here.
  4. Not sure if this was posted before, but if like Cello rock, you'll love these guys... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uT3SBzmDxGk
  5. I'll clarify, because in the big picture, you're both right: Makers is smoother than Jack, Jameson, etc other blended mixing whiskeys. Whiskeys that people would take shots of at a bar and unknowingly think all whiskeys are that harsh. Compared to the good stuff though, yes, it's gasoline.
  6. Agreed. It could be that Murray's a tunnel-vision type of worker. He may want to almost exclusively concentrate on the most pressing thing at the time. For instance with Nolan: he had other things to do (trade deadline, scouting), but he told Nolan (and stated publicly) that he'd offer him a contract soon. He'd already made up his mind about keeping Nolan, but he wanted to put off negotiation. (Nolan may have also taken some time to consider the contract after PLF, etc too, I realize) Could be the same thing for assistant coaches: the draft comes first. The free agency period comes second. Then when that smoke clears, he's got about two months to work out coaches with Nolan. It may be just the way he works.
  7. What have you heard from Tim Murray that differentiates Bennett from Reinhart? Maybe I need to study harder, but the two are just so similar in my mind.
  8. I think the possibility to trade down gets very real if Ekblad drops to us: there's a LOT of teams that would want him, many of them right away (e.g., Edmonton). But we really shouldn't slide down much- we really need that elite talent at the top of the draft. It's the whole reason we suffered like puppies in a car in a hot mall parking lot this season.
  9. In my experience, Makers is a gateway whisky. Smooth and sweet. Much better than what the mostly uninitiated believe is whisky (Jack, Jameson, Wild Turkey, and, yuck, Fireball). Very easy to get other people introduced to better/real whisky with it; it's how I got my start. Cheap enough to mix with other things if you had to. Macallan's usually the next step. Most of my lady friends (special or not) enjoy Macallan 12 as much as I do, but my favorites are the Islays: Lagavulin 16, Ardbeg Uigeadalifdaffwueaellla, etc.
  10. There was a betting line that paid 175:1 if Suarez bit someone. Couples guys collected, including this Norwegian guy that won 17500kroner (~$3200). http://www.tv2.no/2014/06/24/sport/5741657
  11. Agreed. As, for some reason, PhD and I usually do.
  12. Correct. They're for training. Also: not cleats.
  13. Hopefully they stream and/or televise this again. Those were fun to watch.
  14. In those nine regular season games with the Sabres. And 819 regular season games with other teams. Good call.
  15. You're probably more of a natural goal scorer than Adam Oates. GMs didn't hire Adam Oates to score goals (yes he did have one 45 goal season), they hired him to enable other players to score because he could pass a puck cleanly through a cat's butthole. 1079 assists in 1337 games, 6th all time. For instance, in '92-'93 with the Bruins, he put up 97 assists. He made 26 year old rookie Dimitri Kvartalnov score 30 goals that season (he played a total of 112 games in the NHL before going to Europe) and Joe Juneau score 32 goals (he would never score more than 15 in any other season). Aside fun fact: the Bruins would finish the season on an 8-0-0 tear, then get swept 4-0 by the Buffalo Sabres. Oates would rack up nine assists in those four games, zero goals.
  16. Sounds right. Keep in mind that Kevin Devine was mentored by Benning for six years.
  17. Weird, I don't remember Hasek being a 37 goal scorer with a +/- of 2.27. The years, teams, games played, PIM, and if +/- = GAA, that's all right. But goals, assists, and points are wonky.
  18. Yeah, that's not what I want, but I think that's what would probably happen. That said, I think if Ekblad drops to #2, the consideration of trading goes way up. We have the ability and choice to make Edmonton pay dearly for Ekblad and take (presumably the other) Sam at #3. We'd still get a great player that fits our needs, and possibly some sweet haul (probably another 2nd, maybe some more?). Can't wait to see how it shakes out. I'm still hoping GMTM can break off a trade to collect another first rounder.
  19. Those mimeograph machines break all of the time! What would happen if it broke near a deadline!?
  20. Edith and Josephine want to you to take them to the dance hall in the Hudson later.
  21. Something something Hartnell's wife.
