Mark Stone was pretty invisible. Not sure if there was a specific strategy there, but overall strong effort by the team. Some of the execution was not crisp, but I have no complaints about the effort tonight.

There's no fixing this problem either unless he's not done growing. Max P. playing more physical than what I remember in his Montreal days. Not too many guys have put Risto on his keister this year.

Finally a net front presence on the PP. Different skill set than Sam, but Risto can take a beating and keep on ticking!

Simply embarrassing. We are the laughing stock of the entire league. Let's continue to look like we've never played together before...because they haven't with the constant lineup shuffling. 11F & 7D should not happen.

I think it is pretty clear that Jbot likes a certain type of player (small or plays soft, etc.), whether it be via the draft, free agent or trade. As long as he is there, I do not expect to like the type of team he builds...as they will lack heart and toughness.....which would go a long way with Sabres fans IMHO.

JBot needs to be fired before the June draft. I fear all he will do is draft more small, soft and gutless players who will never be capable of playing a heavy game needed to win in this league. I don't care if it looks like the Sabres are once again firing somebody too soon, but I really do not like his kind of players.

I think he needs to fire his current Sabres team President as a start.

Every game this team plays with 7 D-men is an embarrassment. We're basically telling the other teams that we lack enough NHL caliber forwards to field 4 full lines.

Nice analysis from the OP. Something I feel has been missing from the drafting history are some players with more grit and tenacity. Yes, you need to draft talent, but I also wanted to see some more size with toughness sprinkled in. We drafted "nice" players, but few or none brought an edge with them.

Agree with both of these....something I like about Lazar is the fact that he's about 6' tall and nearly 210 lbs. Not the tallest guy for sure, but he has enough weight and strength to win battles. Not too many guys have the same body type and I think we need more "thick" bodies on this team!

Eichel really finding ways to help his team like nobody else can. Had a highlight shortie last game and now a rare OT penalty shot tonight!

Yes...Jack is walking the walk with regards to his growth as a/the leader on this team. I remember a couple years ago when between periods he had a completely dejected look on his face and Russ Brandon ended up talking to him afterwards. Fast forward to today, he has impressed me with how he handles his interviews and leadership with other players. I remember how he was talking to Dahlin on the bench when the coach benched Dahlin in the last period of that game.
