Not a bad time for a PP...can play the first unit to finish the 2nd and then start the 3rd.

He needs to show he was the 1st overall....Makar is trying to outshine him and succeeding so far.

I would prefer to see a more aggressive PK strategy....put pressure on the puck and force the opposing PP unit to make perfect passes. We play an ineffective box and our d-men do not do enough to keep the front clear.

Risto is a beast tonight....multiple Av's ending up on their a$$ so far! On the other hand, Frolik is invisible.

Sabres' play this period has a true PLAYOFF intensity look and feel to it!

He will never develop into a legitimate top 6 forward. Trade him during the summer as part of a package to get a legitimate 2C. Unless the NHL goes to a permanent 3-on-3 format, his game will not adapt.

I don't expect Vesey to resign with Buffalo. Whether we like him or not, I would be shocked if he wants to be back next year.

Is he any better than Asplund?

Casey needs more than a another year IMHO. That said, too much of JBOT's work has been "patches" vs. repaving the whole road. In the end, we get an ugly, bumpy, non-cohesive result that nobody wants to be part of.

Well, at least we have somebody else who can play on the right wing side. Simmonds > Bob Corkum

What I hope for vs. what I expect are two different things. JNot will get rid of Erod for a late pick and pucks and that's it. The main talking points will be: 1. we like how this team is playing right now and feel that we can compete with this current roster 2. our team of skaters is finally healthy and we don't need any additions 3. there was not enough return via trade for what we felt was a reasonable price for our assets 4. blah-blah-blah....

Incredible effort by Brind'amours guys. Outshooting the Leaf's nearly 2:1 and really doing a fantastic job keeping Toronto's shooters outside and minimizing their shot opportunities. Gotta tip my hat to them!

And of course Toronto magically still stays under the cap! Move along, nothing to see here!

Entertaining Leafs/Canes game right now. Carolina lost BOTH of their goalies this game....now playing a 42 year old EMERGENCY goalie. 4-3 Canes....worth tuning in.
