  1. Yet another scoreless period for Buffalo. They need to shoot vs. pass and hope for a fluke goal to break through.
  2. Other teams seem to have no problem cashing in on 2:1's against us. When we get a 2:1, we're lucky if we even get a SOG!
  3. Jbot is in over his head. Kim P. cannot provide any hockey subject matter expertise to guide him. They can't fire him because it would make them look like fools again for making yet another bad GM decision. They can't fire Kruger because they just hired him. They hopefully know the fan base has lost patience and will not endorse another tank season. Other than a miracle, the only other solution I can see is if they restore the role of President to manage Jbot and fill that position with an experience and respected hockey mind who can bring instant credibility to this organization. I don't know who that could be, but they need to demonstrate to the league that somebody new is in charge that knows what they're doing.
  4. Yes....and if so, all I can say is "poor Jack!" $10 million a year helps, but it is a crime to see his talent wasted a couple more years with such a weak supporting cast.
  5. Yes...unfortunately we are right back in the same situation of being stuck between a rock and a hard place. Nobody here is happy with the GM and we may be losing confidence in the coaching staff as well. However, if we make yet another change to either, it feeds the perception that our ownership does not allow our GM and coaching enough time to succeed before firing them....which does not help in recruiting top management talent. It would help if they would hire experienced talent with a proven track record so that we don't have to fire them (rookies) after two or three years of failure.
  6. Well, I suspect we can save our breath's regarding putting Skinner back with Eichel for a while. I think it's more like putting Skinner together with Tage making up the bad shoulder brigade. Maybe between the two of them there are a couple of healthy shoulders combined. Does Ralph put Bogo back into the next game and they slide another defenseman up to wing?
  7. Hmmmm...okay so I'll say that the Sabres kept the play in the offensive zone that PP and that they moved instead of stood around. However, that round and round movement looked more like Ice Capades vs. being a coordinated attack. Trying to find something to feel good about, but that's all I can come up with.
  8. These officials are really bad. That was NOT goalie interference, but we deserved a bad call in our favor.
  9. Hard to say....but I wonder about his shoulder myself.
  10. Yes....and I would add that I think this applies to scouting and drafting as well. IMHO, it is not hard to identify a player that "cares" quality in draft prospects. It may be harder to predict if their talent will succeed at the NHL level, but I wish I felt better about this organizations ability to draft kids who are already wired with a whatever-it-takes attitude vs. hoping they will develop it.
  11. Yes....and sad to say that I think you accurately captured what the rest of the league feels is the modern Sabres' culture "MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY SOFT". That is the only image that consistently applies to this team over the last decade.
  12. If the refs are going to be calling a bunch of BS phantom penalties against us...might as well get our money's worth and inflict some pain while we're at it. Montour should have just body slammed that little #63 @#$%! into the ice while he was at it.
  13. Any player who comes to Boston knows this is the expectation and culture of being a Bruin. You assimilate or don't play. I am not ashamed to say I do envy that and wish Buffalo had it's own identity after 50 years....at least one that I can get behind.
  14. My go-to play was having a winger pass the puck to the center, who could keep the puck away from the D-men. Most of my goals came from a 1:1 vs. the goalie from the slot. Fun times!
  15. I had one of these as a kid....used a marble as the puck. Felt like the game was always being played along the boards....sometime the marble would even go into the goal as it rolled along the boards.
  16. Casey's game is basically "pond hockey" and IMHO will not ever translate well in the NHL. Trade him now while we might still be able to get a Nylander-type deal before his value erodes further.
  17. Common Bogo, you have to hit that EN goal...increase your trade value!
  18. I like the Mojo, Skinner and Vesey line....they need more games together.
  19. Montour showing a nice move with Risto's stick!
  20. Those were a couple of exciting draft years....6 1st rounders in two consecutive years. .500 success with #6, #25 and #30 being HOF caliber players. Not so good with Cyr, LaCombe and Creighton.
  21. To my eye, it's the "I don't give a crap" factor.
  22. Yup! And he was not very convincing in his tone either. If he included the word "maybe" then his words would match his tone.
  23. How bad does Philly want to hit 10? It's a great game to pad your stats.
  24. It may depend on what happens with Sam. If Sam is gone, Jack will not want to stick around.
