Ralph says Team needs to Physically Respond Against Pittsburgh
Carmel Corn replied to Fallsnative01's topic in The Aud Club
Yes. Nobody likes to be in the foxhole all by himself, meaning a single hired gun will not magically make the Sabres a tougher team. Players who have a backbone always appreciate knowing there are multiple teammates who think similarly and have each other's backs. Such players need to have enough talent to justify being on the ice with regular shifts. Strength in numbers. -

Whatever your opinion is about Eichel, I think it is no coincidence that our PP has been crap since he's been out. We're 0-for-whatever now and sliding down the special team rankings. -

Rob says there may a "target" on Chad's Ruhwedel's back....really? This is the Buffalo Sabres Rob, not the Boston Bruins. Miller's already responded, but who else on this roster will? Don't hold your breath. -

Don't look now, but you might be able to add Dahlin to the list. -

This might be Sheahan's best game this season. He's been very noticeable tonight. -

Victor needs to teach his teammates how to shoot without having to handle the puck first. Other guys spend too much time receiving the puck before they shoot it....giving time for the defense to block it or netminder to make the save. -

It's lent....I had to come up with some kind of sacrifice until Easter. -

I sure wish we still had Scandella right now...JBOT's trade last year was embarrassing. Granted he may have walked away on his own, but even on his worst day he is better than Irwin's best. -

Unfortunately JJ showing again his less-than-stellar shootout form.....ugh! He needs to make that stop. -

I've had this crazy thought lately that the coaching staff should play him at FORWARD for a little while. He needs to reacquire a comfort level to pursue the puck, skate freely, pass and shoot! Give him some shifts at forward to give him some freedom to do so. Yes I know we are short on LH defense, but he needs something to snap out of it! -

I would contend he plays bigger than his size...which IMHO is the opposite of many other Sabres! -

OR as Kruppstahl noted in another thread...JJ may be seeing some starts because he might be trade material. -

I'm thankful for seeing a different team tonight....really tired of seeing the downstate teams over and over again. -
Elliotte Friedman this Morning on the Instigators 3/11
Carmel Corn replied to Kruppstahl's topic in The Aud Club
Yes, I would agree they would both satisfy my criteria as proven and experienced. I have difficulty deciding who I prefer first though. I am not in the Claude Julian bandwagon as I want to see a team that can win without necessary a rigid "defense first" approach. -

Carmel Corn replied to Kruppstahl's topic in The Aud Club
Yes...my way of looking at this is that an experienced and proven HC won't come here just for money and no talent, but would want to see some solid pieces and players to work with. There needs to be a good pool of talent that they feel can use as fixed points to help drive their strategy and achieve early success. -
Kelly Pegula designed a Sabres hat and ... wow. Just wow.
Carmel Corn replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
Interesting....does this hat come with a built-in/pull-down paper bag with eye cut-outs so that it can be worn during home games? -
Ralph Krueger needs to go - like yesterday.

Wrong sequence above...but my point is they can't do anything right as well. Aside from the long running on-ice disaster...they screw up even the simple events....remember the 50th jersey fiasco with cheap imitation jerseys and wrong spelling? Some of their other events were really LAME as well....ex. Hasek's jersey retirement was pitiful.
