  1. He won't be in the lineup for sure...more likely at the surgeon's office, or Physical Therapy, or getting fit for a cast, or passing the weeks and months with strength and conditioning staff, etc.
  2. I might be able to support Housley to December, but on the condition he changes his assistants to ones that have more credible experience coaching in the NHL. No matter what, I still blame Housley for the demise of our once respectable powerplay. He did to the Sabres last year what Rex Ryan did to the once mighty Buffalo Bills defense. I blame nobody but Housley for the PP.
  3. Keep Risto - ridiculous to trade him. Better idea, fire Hajt and get an experienced defensive coach.
  4. Don't forget Pommers as well. JBOT inherited a nightmare. KO may be a good guy, but his contract is our biggest liability based on how many years that are left. I would love to see a deal where it can be purged. Next season is tough because they are still in cap jail. Hopefully a buyout can happen as well
  5. Maybe under the coaching of the 2016-2017 staff. You could have the NHL all-star team with Crosby, Ovi, Laine, etc. and they would fizzle under the powerplay coaching of the current staff.
  6. Trading Risto? Hogwash! Aside from him and Guhle (maybe Scandella), any other current d-man is expendable. The problem with the D this year is we have two rookie coaches who tried to coach them and they were both in over their heads. Housley is not a bonafide HC and Hajt is not a credible NHL defense coach either. Risto would flourish under a coaching staff that actually knew what they were doing.
  7. IMHO - watching this year's playoff's I have to disagree. Tkachuk is exactly the kind of player this team needs.
  8. Well, some people think ROR is a "two-way" player.....guess it is true....in a sick kinda way.
  9. Somebody should have tackled Hall and pounded him....no response...pathetic!
  10. Wow Wee Housley is a rookie NHL head coach. He should have had the common sense to hire EXPERIENCED NHL assistants vs. the unproven ones now (ex. Hajt). I also blame him for the complete destruction of the powerplay from last year. The talent is not much different, so it has to be the scheme. Kind of reminds me how Rex Ryan destroyed a highly effective Bill's defense.
  11. Worst case scenario - Middlestadt does not sign and goes into free agency (ala Vesey)
  12. So much for the "attacking" style of offense we heard about during the summer. Don't even get me started on the powerplay....dreadful!
  13. How about fixing the powerplay...going from #1 to #30 is not due exclusively to the D, but rather serious coaching issues.
  14. Holzinger at least had a little speed.
  15. Sam will never have an "edge" to his game...he is highly contact-averse and will not be the type of player who will initiate contact on the forecheck. Add to that his lack of speed and there is no chance he can be anything close to Kane's style of play. Decent hands yes...somewhat effective camped in front also.....but a minimally effective player in today's game. Trade him while you can get something for him.
  16. Seems to me he is right more often than wrong. Sometimes the truth hurts.
  17. There's a reason nobody is actually wearing the "C" on their shoulder....there is nobody on the roster who has the qualities to lead and hold his teammates accountable.
  18. I miss the power play from the previous coaching regime. That was one thing they got right! I don't think this coaching staff has a clue on special teams.
  19. At some point Okposo's contract will be problematic.
  20. I think you're correct. Vesey checked him into the boards around 4:48 left in the 1st. Not a cheap shot, didn't look that bad really. Bogo's back was to the camera, so don't know if his stick got into his own mid section or not.
  21. I would rather they bring back the cool Black/Red/Silver ones. They have not achieved squat since bringing back the Blue & Gold
