  1. Nice to see and hear Doug Allen's anthems.
  2. I'll settle for baby steps....hoping Skinner plays and can get an assist today.
  3. How about swapping HC's for a game. Come on over Alain Vigneault!
  4. For some reason, this image reminds me of Captain America facing Thanos army by himself....
  5. Perhaps, but at least we were blessed with seeing some really high quality hockey in Buffalo back then. The Gods gave us something to be thankful for....admittedly tearing our hearts out in the process. Now, the Gods are teaching us a very painful lesson of humility with an extended penance.
  6. I think it is very simple.....the hockey gods got pissed off when Pegula & Company had the audacity to declare Buffalo as hockey "Heaven". The Gods took offense then and have cursed this team ever since.
  7. Can't say I have....I'll do that right after I attend former GM Tim Murray's stand-up comedy routine.
  8. Ralph is better suited for politics, not professional sports. In sports, if you don't win...you're out of a job. In politics, you can have a LONG, LONG career if you're good at "spew double speak, platitudes and mindless jargon, etc."! In politics, Ralph would not have to worry about accountability. I say he missed his calling.
  9. Sorry, but Ralph has done absolutely nothing to justify getting kicked "upstairs". Granted the Pegula's probably don't want to keep paying for their bad hires, but I don't want any more of Ralph's BS in the organization. I don't think much of our assistants either. And for god's sake, keep him FAR AWAY from the Buffalo Bills!
  10. I'd prefer Jack stays, but the $7.5 million bonus due July 1st puts his future in Buffalo in grave jeopardy. If I'm wrong, I would still risk taking the "C" away from him and giving it to a better leader...whoever that may be.
  11. I greatly fear, but at the same time expect the Pegula's to force GMKA to execute the ROR trade version 2 with Eichel. They don't want to pay the $7.5 million bonus due July 1st and rookie GMKA will have to get his best deal. Every other GM will take advantage of this. The "tank" failure will be complete!
  12. The playoffs seem so far, far away.....
  13. Philly may be saying to themselves, we scored two goals too many today, we should just apply them to tomorrow's game and go home tonight. Two goals against Buffalo tomorrow should be enough.
  14. Decided to enjoy the beautiful weather here in Indiana and have the game recording on the DVR. Got back in time for the start of the third....I assume I don't need to watch periods 1 or 2 unless I want to throw-up the nice lunch I had?!?!
  15. I really don't have a problem with his answers. He's being diplomatic, which he needs to be if he remains but is also important if he is entertaining any kind of trade possibility. He deflected the question vs. saying anything controversial to upset team dynamics. That said, part of me wishes it was a more "honest" world and that he would say what he really thinks without worrying about anybody's feelings. "I'm just focused on helping .....Ralph has no F'ing clue how to coach worth Sh!t....our team win and succeed!
  16. Solid C. In his defense, GMKA is in somewhat of a no-win situation. The Pegula's did not set him up for success with an experienced staff already in place. They handed him a team with a head coach he did not hire himself. Any incoming GM is going to inherit some bad players and contracts, but not necessary having to keep a sitting coach. I think he is trying to change some of the character on the team with his new player additions. Goaltending is a weakness, but he would have had to give up picks and/or prospects to replace Hutton....hard to do with so many other holes to fill.
  17. Aside from the healthy scratch drama....hate to say I'm kind of getting bored seeing the same teams game after game.
  18. Ha-ha...snowball's chance in hell, but just think about how this could mess-up Jeff Skinner's head. He probably hates playing for Ralph, but if Ralph was gone and Rod showed up, would he be happy or throw-up?
  19. The dilemma is that there are some good candidates available RIGHT NOW. If we wait, we may not have the same selection available....as other team will be firing their coaches and possibly picking up somebody like Boudreau, Gallant or Claude, etc. IMHO, Krueger is likely to be fired no later than at the end of the season anyway....so why not pick-up a possible difference maker HC now? Then again, it is Pegula's team and they are very capable of making more bad decisions.
  20. I've always been a sucker for big mean defensemen who took care of business, so that draft (Risto and Zadorov) made me very happy at the time. They did not play together for long, but seeing both of them on the ice together was still fun to see.
  21. I remember seeing footage of him talking to GM Darcy about drafting Zadorov just before they made the pick. Devine said something like "Do you want to be hard to play against" or something like that. He was pushing for drafting Zadorov because of his size and aggression. Darcy agreed on the video and the rest is history.
  22. NHL, you're probably right...Rivet was including USHL and AHL, which is where the bigger offense numbers came from.
  23. I caught part of the Instigators today...Rivet feels Montour has a point-per-game offensive output before coming to Buffalo. If he's right, then putting him on the PP could help showcase him.....however, that may not be likely given the team's PP success lately....at least on the first unit. With Risto out, maybe he could get some 2nd unit time to show if he can be a producer.
