  1. Help us Darth....you're our only hope!
  2. Wow, having even 3 defenseman on the ice didn't prevent that last one....ugly. Jonas was on his knees and deep in the crease way too much while play was on the perimeter....stand up!
  3. Let's hope there's a rash of injuries throughout the league so that teams that might be sellers (Buffalo) will have competing offers for our trash. Maybe still won't happen with the practice squad setup, but one can hope.
  4. Crazy TOI minutes for Bryson....9:28 with a neutral +/-. Meanwhile, our top two pairing is -2 each with less minutes played. Bryson is getting the job done!!!
  5. Ralph will certainly be impressed with Jonas' head shot goal....nice soccer play!
  6. My boss scheduled a zoom conference call at 8:00 pm tonight. Normally, I'd be ticked off but I might end up thanking him for sparing me from watching this so-called professional hockey team making pee-wee mistake after mistake.
  7. I'll settle for ONE layer of competent management.
  8. I really wish the Sabres had a second top 10 pick in the 2019 draft. No regrets whatsoever with taking Cozens at #7, but it would have been really sweet to have the 9th and taken Zegras too. Could you imagine having both those guys as your future top 2 centers? <drool>
  9. In all fairness to GMTM, he traded Pysyk for Kulikov too. A right hander for a left hander. Too bad Kulikov got hurt during that crazy incident along the boards when the bench door opened....wrong place at the wrong time for him.
  10. Agree....Ralph's strategy strikes me as more trying to minimize how badly we lose games vs. high event hockey. Kind of like the cursed "prevent defense" except that we seldom have a lead to protect.
  11. He's a left-hander....I say pick him up and play him. I'd rather Guhle vs. playing Irwin!!!
  12. Islanders again?!?! This is starting to feel like ince5t.
  13. I would hate to see this team return back to the 2011 or 2012 era where we were pretty weak up the middle. Draft picks in return won't fix the gap in the short term. Drafting two centers in the first round did not fix things (Grigorenko and Zemgus).
  14. There is nothing I don't like about this kid! I wish I (and he) could hear how LOUD last night would have sounded in front of a packed house at home in Key Bank.
  15. None of us are in the locker room, so we don't know. Perhaps it means that a young kid is willing to show the rest of the locker room that he is willing to do whatever it takes to win. Whether the rest of the room cares? Many may not, so it may not accomplish a better result going forward. I don't think Cozens is expecting the other stars to throwing punches, but maybe his intent is to inspire the other players to break out of their complacent comfort zones and do something different than they are now to try and win. I for one am not confident it will work with this bunch of players. Regardless, I think Cozens took some initiative that much of the Sabre fan base appreciates.
  16. It can be debated whether it elicited any response from the team. The stats would say NO, meaning no perceived "lift" in the play of the other players....disappointing. I would say though that if this were a home game last night in front of a full arena, the response from the crowd might be deafening....which still may or may not inspire this current team, but at least the fans in the stands would be charged-up.
  17. We may have witnessed a watershed moment for this team. I'm not trying to be overly dramatic, but I can see myself remembering this game as the emergence of #24 as a a real leader on this team vs. just another talented young kid who's just trying to blend in.
  18. I would LOVE to see him start the next fight....let the kids show the so-called seasoned vets what passion and emotion looks like.
  19. Cozens to the rest of the team....LET ME SHOW YOU HOW SH!T GET'S DONE!!!
  20. I could be nuts, but tonight's game seems a lot quieter with the real people in the stands. Maybe I'm getting too accustomed to the artificial crowd noise. Cozen's MVP!!!!!
  21. Agree....it's important that someone like him can come in and play regular minutes as a left-handed left-side d-man. I was hoping somebody like him could step up.
  22. Skinner is rubbing off on him
  23. I seriously think Hutton needs one of these.....
  24. $3.9 million per year > 6 or 10 or 15 (or more).....sorry, I'm not holding my breath that the Pegula's see anything else but the $'s vs losses.
  25. Kreider's expression looks like "Did my shot really go in?" Ugh!
