  1. Poetry. (Was thinking of the Lindy SC ring fan fic the other day.)
  2. JAG. An active member of Sabres Twitter is all. And it’s just a take - not a sourced rumor. But it’s also of a piece with the undercurrent of the Pegulas’ looking for an off ramp from owning the Sabres. Appreciated. I might have missed it since Bone has me blocked on Twitter (for reasons unknown).
  3. I’d pay $38 for that picture of Cliffy lurking as the children of the residents were enjoying story time with … some Pegula Sports muckity muck (?) or another local dignitary. (It’s been scrubbed from the relevant photo shoot, AFAICT.) That guy gave off the bad vibes. Finally: The reason I bumped this thread and fwiw:
  4. Whatever happened to ol’ Uncle Cliff and his shelter for military-vets-single-moms? May he virtually rest in peace. There was smoke there. How much? I can’t now recall.
  5. Psshh. They are both designed to send a message, build a reputation of a player not to be trifled with. The Cozens’ cross check - the Sabrespace Rorshach test no one saw coming.
  6. I didn’t stay up to watch, especially after the game got delayed by a broadcast conflict. I noticed that Eichel got 87% O-zone starts. It makes sense that he’ll be eased in.
  7. Maybe. I wish I could find the interview that Donald Audette once gave about how he learned subtle stick work (some from Rob Ray?) that gave him space on the ice and discouraged opposing players from funking with him. What Cozens did here is different. But the idea seems the same.
  8. O, ye hockey gods, please preserve and nurture young Cozens’ ability to play with some edge, the capacity to occasionally lose his temper, and a proclivity for dispensing vigilante justice.
  9. And I hasten to add: No need to *overdo it* … but an occasional line-stepping - especially when it’s warranted (but sometimes just for chaos’s sake) - would be a very welcome feature of our team.
  10. Let the Church say “Amen”
  11. Not mine at all. I saw it somewhere on teh internets.
  12. I fooking love it. I also suggest that any hand wringing, well-actually's, and/or scolding be gathered up, packed securely, and sent to your mother. Or someone's mother. Or an auntie. No matter. I'll even Venmo you the shipping costs. And don't mess with the Workhorse from Whitehorse. Also: This happened when I all I had was a radio feed. I heard Ray's "Ooohhhhhh" come in, and I was like: Whatever happened -- it was bad. (And as RUN-DMC once said: "Not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good!")
  13. That after spitting a tooth in the palm of his hand! (As Rick noted during a throwback performance on the call.)
  14. I dunno man. He’s mostly below replacement level when I watch him.
  15. Fun hockey team is fun.
  16. Krebs wearing 19 and feathering passes cross ice …
  17. Love that combination for a shorty. Also dropping in to say: I’m listening on the radio as I wait on a youth sports thing. Rick sounds great. His give and take with Ray about the Billie Eilish confetti and Ray’s nonstandard English (high stuck!) were wonderful. (Paging @PASabreFan)
  18. Gotcha. Based on what I'm seeing (and not seeing), it sure seems that way. Very fair take here - thanks. He *was* really good early in the season - looked like a player who had really grown and worked on his game.
  19. Muffuletta Wrappers! Also, I missed the memo: Does Olofsson have some sort of core injury that has taken away his torso-torqued shot?
  20. Eazy was a legitimate gangster, sure. But he couldn’t hold a candle to Dre, Cube, and, later on, Snoop when it came to artistry, creativity, and technique. E didn’t write his own lyrics (at least any of the good ones), couldn’t craft beats or coordinate samples, and he often had to be recorded a bar at a time. If Dre and others were wannabe gangsters, E was a wannabe artist.
