Agreed, it shouldn't be news... but I applaud him nonetheless.

I, for one, thinks he uses his reach fairly well. He has good hands, and a hard shot... combined with his reach he has an enormous puck radius. He's good on the forecheck and gets his stick on a lot of pucks due to his length. He could be more physical, but that's not his game. He's OK defensively (+4 TRpm). My concern w Tage is wether or not he can take that next step.

I see JT Compher was not protected by COL. Always liked his game, woulda been an upgrade over Eakin IMO.

I like Eklund, he's my highest rated forward... excellent hockey sense and skill. Needs to work on his top end speed tho which he can imrpove. Pace of play, confidence, decision making... just to name a few.

I think there's still plenty of runway in Power's development, he's shown outstanding ability to adapt and adjust. Beniers, I like his game, but I'm not sure as he has that elite hockey sense you'd expect in a top pick. Too bad he was injured at the World's.

He needs to work on his defensive game, as does any 18yo prospect. That said, the growth in his game throughout the season and at the World's is why I would take him #1. Additionally, his size and reach allow him to overcome positional deficiencies at his age.
