  1. If you drink enough water, coke can be completely out of your system (undetectable) in 24hrs. The problem with coke is it keeps you up all night... enter one Mike Richards with his stockpile of oxy's and norco's for that restful night sleep after a night of getting completely spracked.
  2. Hopefully they score a goal on Thurs, otherwise we'll need to wait until Saturday to find out.
  3. Current: Kane (confirmed), O'Reilly, Gionta, Legwand, McGinn, Gorges (confirmed), Lehner, Bogosian (confirmed) Past: Roy (confirmed), Briere, Hasek (confirmed), Hawerchuk, Andreychuk, Mogilny, Barrasso (confirmed), Housley, there's just so many I'll stop there
  4. Which Buffalo Sabre scores the first goal of the 2015-16 season?
  5. Now a beer league player in southern california, I can say with first hand experience that the cocaine problem has trickled down to all levels of play.
  6. Today's lines in practice had Foligno-Girgensons-Reinhart as the 3rd line, with a 4th line of Deslauriers-Legwand-McGinn/Larsson.
  7. Disagree. To me he's very very close, but his strength on the puck and along the wall just isn't NHL caliber yet. I watched him closely in pre-season and it seemed every 3rd or 4th puck battle he would literally get knocked down off his skates. That can't happen, he needs a stronger base, let him build that up in Roch... it might only take a few months, but it's better right now at his age that he plays and plays a lot with skilled players. Right. They could leave all 13 forwards (with Reinhart) on the roster. However, like Bylsma said the other day... "For him to play 30 games here this year and be here the whole year, (it’s) probably not the best for his development as a player,” Bylsma said inside the First Niagara Center. ...sounds to me like he's headed to Roch... which is the right move. Let McCormick be the guy that plays 8min once or twice a week. Reinhart needs minutes, with skill players, PP time, etc... Roch is perfect for where he's at.
  8. We're still talking about the goal song right? Tomorrow they'll announce the 2 finalists... so get your votes in today! http://sabres.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=107670
  9. I'm sure it was worse back in the 80's and 90's, but it sounds like it's making a comeback. Good that the league is making this public, time to do something about it, kids are ruining their lives.
  10. Interesting. The 4 he's referring to are Reinhart, McGinn, Larsson and Girgensons. Has Zemgus not had a good camp? Kinda surprised he's lumped in with those 3. McGinn has had a good camp, so I don't see either of those 2 being the odd man out... so it comes down to Reinhart and Larsson. Larsson was one of the best players down the stretch last season. That said, I hope they make the right move and start Reinhart in Roch. If he's really too good for the AHL he'll tear it up down there and his stay won't be long. Let him earn it.
  11. They only have 23 healthy players (Bogosian is out) on the roster so they don't need to make any more moves before Thursday. They have 13 forwards, so one of Reinhart, McGinn, or Larsson will likely not dress Thursday. And they'll likely go with 7 D, so one of Colaiacovo, Donovan, McCabe or Pysyk will likely not dress. My money is on Reinhart and McCabe. When Bogosian returns, they'll need to send somebody down to make room, but it sounds like he could miss another 2 weeks maybe 3, which is enough time for the forward situation to work itself out.
  12. That is one sorry ass lineup. Heard of some of them, but wow, ugly. I played against McElhinney during the summers here in socal when he was with the Ducks... he was terrible, couldn't be he was in the NHL.
  13. The average age of college hockey freshman is 20 years old. http://www.boston.com/sports/articles/2008/03/02/college_hockey_undergoes_a_freshman_reorientation/?page=full... Division 1 college hockey, where the average age of a freshman is 19.8. What that means at the other end is unsettling to some coaches. "Last year we played a team that had two 26-year-old [seniors]," said Parker, in his 35th season as BU's coach. "I'm not saying it's not fair, but it might be dangerous." For the 18-year-olds, that is, which is why Parker and York have reassessed the way they recruit. Cognizant that so many teams are skating 20- and 21-year-old freshmen and thus have an abundance of 23-, 24-, 25-, and even 26-year-olds in the lineup, York - in his 36th year of coaching and 14th at BC - and Parker have to be convinced a true-age freshman is not going to be overmatched physically.
  14. We shall see. Eichel said he weighed 215 coming into camp. He measured 6'3 at the combine. Connor McDavid is 2 inches shorter and weighs almost 25lbs less at 190lbs. That makes a big difference in the NHL, skating through checks, etc... McDavid won't be able to just skate by eveybody like he did against smaller competition in the OHL where you're playing aginst 16-20 year olds. Eichel was playing against men, div I college players avg 23 years old. It would've been interesting to see what kind of numbers Eichel would put in juniors and what McDavid's number would be like playing NCAA.
  15. I was gonna say Mario. Big long powerful stride, deceptively fast because it didn't seem like he was churning the ice with this feet. Perreault was fast, powerful stride too, but different body type.
  16. Eichel is more pro-ready, he's stronger and bigger than McDavid at this stage. McDavid will catch up, but it will take time. IMO McDavid ends his career with more points, but who really knows... they'll be close, so much depends on if they can stay healthy and who their surrounding cast is. Edmonton seems to be doing things the right way now, legit HC, better goalie, help on D, etc... they'll be better.
  17. Agreed. Rochester would be best for his development at this stage in his career. Let him bake until he can take that 2nd line spot from Gionta.
  18. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree :) He already thinks the game at NHL speed, his skating has gotten better, but still needs work and he needs to get stronger on the puck and along the wall. He'll develop faster playing top line and PP in Roch than he will 3rd line in Buffalo. It'll be a big boost for his confidence as well, which is important for young players to have success early in their career. The AHL isn't a garage league, it's faster than juniors so he'll it's not like he'll be regressing down there. Will be interesting to see where is ends up.
  19. low point... https://vine.co/v/O3j2HgABwtP (w/ turdburgers)
  20. Good points. However, I just think he'd be better off getting 18-20min a night playing on a top-line in Roch (w/ Bailey and Baptiste?). They could develop some nice chemistry down there, get lot of time on the PP and learn the pro-game. Playing 3rd line minutes with less offensively talented players won't help him develop into a 1st or 2nd line skill player.... see Grigorenko, Mikhail. I'd rather plug a guy like Larsson onto the 3rd line with a guy like McGinn and Girgensons. All 3 are strong on the puck, can win most battles, score the odd goal, etc.. .which is what you need from your third line. I'd let Reinhart bake in Roch until he's ready for take over 2nd line duties from a guy like Gionta.
  21. Couple things that stand out to me are his play away from the puck and his lack of strength on the puck. He seems to lose a lot of 50/50 pucks on the wall, just gets out muscled physically and loses it. Away from the puck he still appears to be a step behind where he should be... seems like he's either trying to catch up with the play or is a step behind on the back check. Maybe I'm just being too critical, but expectations should be high considering where he was drafted. Playing in Roch against men will help improve in both of those areas. I'd rather see him center a top line in Roch than 3rd line in Buffalo.
  22. I think Reinhart starts the season in Roch. He looks better physically, but still not quite there yet. Put vets like McGinn and Legwand on the 3rd line and let Reinhart get top line minutes in Roch. Will be better for him in the long run.
