for christ stewart? marty knows nothing. kane is gmtm's ideal hockey player.... he wants more kanes not fewer. i wouldn't. it's a business, the players realize that. if the right deal comes along he gets moved. he can always sign in here in the offseason. kane out sick/hungover/border agent took his blow/etc...

Nyquist has been granted an in-person hearing which allows for a suspension of 6 games or more.
-
He played well at the tail end of last season, picking a goal dishing out some nice assists. I was kinda expecting him to crack the opening day lineup, especially with Eichel going down... thankfully D-Lo was there to fill that spot instead of a creative guy who plays a two-way game and create offense.
-
Yeah, probably just one example of a myriad of things they're working on where they think he can get better. And when are they having these clinics? Can't be during the season? Maybe he worked with him during the summer?
-
When he comes in on the left with one hand on his stick, he shields it with his right arm, but he lifts it too high which obstructs his view.
-
who cares if he wants to be traded or not. we're trying to run a business here!
-
Wait. You're not a Bylsma supporter? Please explain!
-
If you watch every other game, you think this team is either at the top of the standings or the bottom. Maybe wrist is acting up, or he was traded, or sick, or overslept.
-
ain't happening this season

Reasons why Dan Bylsma is not a bad coach. 1 - He won a Cup. 2 - ???? 3 - ???? 4 - ????

DD isn't asking Jack to dump the puck in every single time he gains the red line and be the first on the forecheck.... but he's asking him to not turn it over at the blue line, either get it deep or move it, don't try to stickhandle through 3 guys every time you gain the zone. If you have one guy to beat, sure, take a chance sometimes, but not every time, and you better hustle back and defend if you turn it over. Is he asking the same from Foligno? No. He wants him to dump it in every single time and use his big body to punish the defense. That's what Gio is talking about when he says all systems are the same... everybody has a role to file, and if one guy tries to do too much or isn't willing to fulfill his role, then the whole thing breaks down. That said, I don't think it's DDs system, I think it's more so his inability to get these guys to buy in to the roles he's asking them to play.

O'Reilly and Reinhart with Enzo sauce all over their faces at the end.... oh boy. Almost as bad as the Roy crotch grab.

more Eichel... http://buffalonews.com/2017/02/13/sabres-lehner-says-wasnt-singling-eichel/ “Whether it's minute one or minute 60, I'm going to play the same exact way,” Eichel said. “A lot can go on in the course of a game and the course of a season, obviously the ups and downs in your mind, mentally and physically. I try to stick to the same routine every day, same game plan. We're all in the NHL for a reason. We all built our identity at a younger age. We're here. We do something very well, and that's why we play in the NHL. Whatever that is, just try to bring that to the rink every day. I'm a guy that needs to produce offensively. I need to play a 200-foot game and make a difference for this team. Whether it's in our own zone or setting somebody up or scoring a goal, that's what I'm looked at for. I'm a creative player. I take risks trying to make plays. That's how I've always been." “There's definitely areas of my game I need to clean up. I need to get better in my own zone. I need to be more responsible. Maybe my timing coming out of our zone. There's obviously areas of my game I need to get better at. It's a work in progress with our whole team, and I'm the same way.”
-
"Just come to the rink everyday and enjoy the fact you're playing the NHL." wow, not the attitude you want from your franchise player
-
If they're skating hard and working their off they won't get booed win or lose. Mailing it in when you're 5 points out of playoff spot deserves some booing.

Can't wait for the riveting Eichel interview from Paul Hamilton.. "So, Jack, what do you think about Robin's comments after the Vancouver game, Robin is an emotional guy he wears his heart on his sleeve, is that something you expect after a tough loss where you feel maybe the team didn't play it's best game, that maybe comes from lacking some consistency as a team, is that something that the team can maybe rally around going forward down the stretch as the games become more critical... blah blah blah...?" ...all the while Jack nodding profusely, eyes rolling back into his head, "Yeah, yeah, yep, for sure, yes, yeah, yeah...."

Kopitar and Carter eventually fell in line with Suter's chip and grind system, and they won a few Cups. There's no reason Eichel and Co. can't do the same, although Bylsma is no Suter and Lehner isn't Quick, and there's no Drew Doughty, other than that we're right there!
-
I'd move Eichel for Scheifle, Trouba and Byfuglien.
-
Lehner vs Eichel cage match should be the final showdown.
-
The Sabres roster is filled with grinders, ROR, Kane, Okposo, Foligno, Girgensons, Bailey, even Ennis I would say. DDs system is tailored for this roster. Jack doesn't like it? Too bad kid, learn to play the right way... you haven't done anything in this league that makes you too good to play a system. I agree with what Lehner is saying, I don't want ut coming from my goalie tho. ROR or Gio or some other vet needs to be calling these guys out... that lack of leadership is a bigger concern than the young kids ignoring the system.

Shut up and do your job tendy. It's fine if he voices his displeasure within the confines of the lockerroom. But to do it in the media speaks very poorly of him as a professional. It won't be forgotten by the players.
-
I don't either. Could be turmoil the next time Robin has a bad game. Just shut the up and stop pucks.

Did Spurgeon do something to Nyquist earlier that shift? I feel this incident is missing some context.
