    If MIttlestadt was in junior he'd have atleast 200 goals by now. Part of this is also that their best prospects, highest picks in the last 5 years are Eichel and Reinhart... who are no longer prospects.

    Agree on 4th line.. kinda. But yeah, to stick around he needs to show something. That said, this whole idea of guys suddenly playing great the last 20 games of the season and earning a spot that way is utter garbage. The time to start showing something was Oct.

    Those type of guys are a dime a dozen... and unless they have speed, are sound defensively and can chip in 10-15g/yr they belong in the AHL. He's part of the problem... one of the worst minus's on the team and contributes zero offensively.

    I was disappointed that Botterill didn't move Bogo , Gorges or Moulson last summer... he seems happy just to ride out their deals. And by "move" I mean incentivize some team to take on their deals by including picks or some B level prospects, maybe a Larsson or Girgensons as well. Sounds to me like they plan on keeping him around.

    You see it all the time, often it's just a bone jarring clean hit that triggers a scuffle. In this case it was a dirty dirty cheapshot, and nobody gave a damn.

    Ties would alienate the vast majority of the fanbase (millennials) who need instant gratification.

    The shootout itself takes at least 5 minutes to complete, so why not just add 5min of 2-on-2... then 1-on-1 for 5min, ending in a goalie fight at center ice if it's still not decided.

    true not sure it's being phased out. you still see a lot of it... on teams that care about each other anyway.

    Trade #1 - OTT would laugh at that offer. Switch Tennyson with Guhle, and the 3rd to a 1st.... and maybe they don't let out a chuckle. Trade #2 - An average goalie and a lazy underachieving prospect for an average goalie and one of the top prospects in hockey. Bad deal for NYI. Trade #3 - It's gonna take more than Kane just to land Kyrou. Trade #4 - SJS doesn't have the cap space. They'd be adding a net $10mil/yr in salary with that deal. Maybe with Thorton coming off the books it could work, but that would leave them much with many spots to fill next season.

    As a former player, I disagree. Especially when it happens to an established vet. You'd expect at least some kind of reaction, like a nice heavy face wash or few jabs.

    I didn't like the fact that none of the other Sabres on the ice did anything about the hit. They all just kind of skated over, took a look and didn't even bat an eyelash at Hall. If this was a tight knit team, that wouldn't happen.

    How do we know the baby is hers? I like the idea of ROR. From the outside he seems like a guy everybody would want on their team. Just something about him this season tho, like he's lost a step or two. Appears out of shape always with his head down, short strides, and shoulders slouched struggling to get back in the play on the backcheck... runs out of gas 20s into a shift. I don't get it, you'd think he'd have shown up in terrific shape this season to make push for the playoffs and chance to be Captain. Maybe he's just one of those guys that loses some of the extra motivation once they're financially set for life. He likes guitar tho, he's probably gotten better at that.

    IMO, it's a ilttle to cozy of any atmosphere for the players. They have quite the setup courtesy of Terry and Kim. They're like spoiled children who refuse to work hard.

    Ahkchually, rhey need tertiary and quaternary scoring.

    Ristolainen is a very good second pairing defenseman. So is Scandella. NJD is really good at things that expose Buffalo's weaknesses. Speed and limiting high danger scoring chances.
