  1. haha, that +14 is nice tho!
  2. The complaints about Lucia's program are unwarranted.
  3. I see scissors
  4. So when is Seattle going to enter the league.... 2020-21?
  5. ...and look at how much better they're doing this season. It's like night and day.
  6. In my uneducated amateur opinion, I think he should stay in school another year.
  7. Risto is what he is. Everybody expects too much out of him. He's a nice 2nd pairing guy who can contribute a bit offensively.
  8. I'll make a prediction.
  9. I frequent Staples Center and the Honda Center. Last time I was at KBC was 2 years ago. 1 - KBC is dark. Dark hallways, dark arena, dark concourses. 2 - The angle of the seats is too shallow.... not steep enough. It seems you're very far away from the ice even when sitting in the lower bowl (compared to SC/HC). 3 - Temperature is on par with SC/HC... Staples is the coldest arena I've been in. Dress accordingly. 4 - KBC hallways/concourses are too narrow. That said I still miss the days of running up and down the hallway ramps at The Aud to get up to the blues.
  10. It's important that GMJB plays this correctly starting now... handing out contracts and playing time to maximize their protected list.
  11. 25 years ago, there was a big difference in ability between 3rd/4th line NHL regulars and the better AHL players. Today, 3rd/4th line NHL players are on par, talent-wise, with the better AHL players. And that's not good for the product.
  12. I don't subscribe to the idea that they need an entire team of fast players. That might be what's working now in the NHL, but it's cyclical. You don't want to be that team that's always chasing the latest trend, never setting the trend. Just draft all around good hockey players who play with passion and things will get better.
  13. League is becoming too watered down. 3rd and 4th line guys belong in the AHL. Coaching is becoming more important than talent.
  14. Tip of the cap to Housley. They played hard for 62min and got rewarded.
  15. Yes, you could make that argument. But I would argue that neither coach is getting enough offensive production out of these players, and Housley has certainly done worse on the goals against side of things.
  16. Foligno, Ennis and Gionta accounted for 33 goals in 16-17. Girgensons, Pouliot and Pominville have accounted for 27 goals this year, and there's still 20 games remaining. Let me put it this way, BUF has 151 goals through 63 games. That's 2.4 goals per game. The 16-17 team had 201 goals through 82 games, or 2.5 goals per game. The reason for their suckitude this year is they're giving up 3.3 goals per game, compared to 2.9 last season. That's almost half a goal a game worse, with no increase in offensive production. Depth scoring is not the issue, it's how they play defense and defend.... that's coaching IMO.
  17. I agree. Bylsma did much better with a worse roster. I'm not saying Bylsma is the answer, but when comparing apples to apples Housley is doing much worse than Bylsma did.
  18. I like that he's not trading away prospects and picks for middling NHL players. That will pay off down the road.
  19. both named Daniel, both 5'10 180lbs Daniel O'Regan, born in Berlin, Germany was drafted in 2012. Guess who was the leading point producer for the Berlin Polar Bears in 2012? Daniel Briere
  20. You would think that when they're trying to have a kid, they would time it so the birth would be sometime between late April-October. That's a six month window.... figure it out! By my calculations, the child was conceived around May 27th.. I think this is one of those examples Botterill is referring to when he mentioned a lack of preparation.
  21. That Kings/Knights game last night was fantastic. Rematch tonight in Vegas.
  22. This reminds me of the Chris Gratton trade to PHX in 2003. Gratton and Kane are similar types of players. Both traded for an undersized overaged prospect with some offensive flair who hadn't yet established himself in the NHL.
