About damn time. I've been asking for Tippett for several years now.

Although I did accuse Bogo of cocaine use in the past... I can't be certain.... but it's based on some insider knowledge, although not someone who I trust implicitly. So it's speculative at best. That said I hope he gets better and can at least contribute something next season. He had a +8.5 TRpm last season.... second best on the entire team. BUf's ES goal diff was -46.0. BUF has played 82.0 games and had an ES goal diff per game of -0.56. Bogo has played 65.0 games, and 36.06% of each game on average. Therefore, his expected pm is -13.15 while his actual pm is -5.0. His TRpm is 8.15.

It's the difference between his expected and actual pm.

It's basically the difference between your expected plus minus (based on team even strength goal differential and your minutes played) and your actual plus minus.... here's Auston Matthews for this past season (output from a script i wrote) TOR team ES goal diff is 36.0. The team has played 82.0 games and has an ES goal diff per game of 0.44. Auston Matthews has played 68.0 games, and 30.92% of each game on average. Therefore, his expected pm is 9.23 while his actual pm is -9.0. Matthews TRpm is -18.23. It's only relative to your team... so a player on a bad team who has a TRpm of 0 is a part of the problem, while a TRpm of 0 on an elite team means you're an equal contributor to the team's success.

Pegula is worth 4.5 billion. 25 million is 0.55% of his net worth. It's like $5500.00 if your net worth is 1 million. If he gets two seasons our of him and has to eat the rest he won't give a ? about the money. -

Per Botterill: Sabres have relieved Phil Housley of his Coaching Duties
pi2000 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
"fans, players, coaches, and stafff"... Not a word about JBOTT? hmmmmm I can see Phil firing off some choice expletives at JBOTT when he broke the news to him. I'd like to imagine JB said something like: "I liked the way you attacked the job and you fought to the end. It's been a tough grind. However, it's tough to win in this league.... it's unfortunate, but... YOU'RE FIRED!!!" -

The downside is trying to convince another GM to give you a job. Do you hire the guy who lasted 5-6-7 years with his previous team. and showed steady progress in the early years? Or the guy who lasted just 2 seasons with zero progress whatsoever. -
Toronto's final TRpm's for those interested... remember, a TRpm near 0 means you're an equal contributor to the team's overall performance. Large negative means you're an anchor (at ES). Hainsey was a +30, he doesn't score much at all, but still... a +30 is significant... which means he defends well on a team that can score. IMO BUF needs more players like him who are skilled at defending. Risto certainly provides more offense than Hainsey, but defensively they're not even close... does Risto's offense offest his lack of defense? Not on Buffalo's current roster... but if you pair him with the right guy, then it can offset the difference. Adding more Montour's, Pilut's, etc.. guys who can skate well and provide offense... isn't going to help... they need some Ron Hainsey's to pair up with these guys. What good is it if Risto scores 2 goals, but the team gives up 3 as a result of his mistakes because there's nobody to help cover his gaffe's? Just way too many of those types of players on the current roster and not enough Hainsey's. @sfo-lvgoy:~$ ./trpm_v1.2.py TOR Ron Hainsey 18.00 Morgan Rielly 10.13 Mitch Marner 10.11 Jake Gardiner 9.37 John Tavares 7.55 Zach Hyman 7.02 Andreas Johnsson 6.70 Jake Muzzin 6.38 Connor Brown 2.72 Kasperi Kapanen 2.52 Par Lindholm -0.11 Trevor Moore -0.66 Josh Leivo -1.08 Frederik Gauthier -1.29 Igor Ozhiganov -5.44 Tyler Ennis -9.71 William Nylander -10.13 Nikita Zaitsev -10.13 Nazem Kadri -10.64 Travis Dermott -13.10 Patrick Marleau -15.81 Auston Matthews -18.23 EDM: @sfo-lvgoy:~$ ./trpm_v1.2.py EDM Matt Benning 17.38 Kris Russell 13.97 Connor McDavid 13.86 Leon Draisaitl 13.29 Darnell Nurse 6.91 Alex Chiasson 6.55 Ty Rattie 1.46 Kevin Gravel 1.23 Zack Kassian 1.13 Sam Gagner -0.93 Colby Cave -1.63 Oscar Klefbom -2.08 Milan Lucic -2.63 Tobias Rieder -2.83 Ryan Nugent-Hopkins -2.95 Ryan Spooner -4.53 Drake Caggiula -5.52 Jujhar Khaira -7.40 Kyle Brodziak -9.01 Jesse Puljujarvi -10.65 Adam Larsson -17.19

The fact that BUF cycles through coaches so quickly has to be a significant deterrent to any respectable candidate. -

can you imagine Housley doing this? -
I think he would be good for the core guys... but don't know enough about him to say if he's the long term answer. IMO, pretty much any veteran coach could get more out of this group than Housely did... but how much more? And for how long? Probably some immediate success, just from getting a more consistent effort... but can he clean up the d-zone play? Would need a few games to evaluate if he has them headed in the right direction.

The roster definitely needs fixing, however they should have been better than they were. I don't think anybody is expecting playoffs next season, but some upward movement in the standings, players giving an all out effort on a regular basis, better d-zone play, etc.... are what is expected. -
Called it from day 1.... and took a lot of heat for this take. That said, as a fan I really wanted to see him have success, but he struggled getting his message across. Players didn't "fear" him they way they should a head coach... nobody willing to skate through a wall for him. You need an alpha dog to lead a young team, unfortunately Housely was just too nice of a guy.

Official:Trade Brandon Montour to Buffalo for 1st and Guhle
pi2000 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
The team's ES goal diff over the past 15 games is -25.0. The team has played 15.0 games and has an ES goal diff per game of -1.67. Brandon Montour has played 15.0 games, and 36.31% of each game on average. Therefore, his expected +/- is -9.08 while his actual +/- is -3.0. Therere his TRpm⢠is +6.08. -
And we all know that Corsi is more important than actual point production since the Cup is awarded annually to the team with the best CF%.

The incident happened sometime between late in their game against TBL and before they boarded their flight home a few hours later. Bobrovsky was pulled in that game after giving up 4 goals, and as has been his standard practice, he went directly to the locker room instead of remaining on the bench. Their GM says there is no friction between him and Tortorella. So my speculation is that something must have happened in the locker room, maybe what began as an argument between teammates turned into a physical confrontation.... would be my guess.
