Pekar with 2 more last night giving him 7 in 5.

I'm in Nashville for my son's hockey tournament this weekend. But yes, I live in Laguna in Orange County.
-
It's official, I'll be at the game tomorrow. I'll let everybody know what happens.

RK mentioned that he's watched plenty of film from past games. His objective was to figure out what each player does well so he's not trying to fit square pegs into round holes. That said, I don't think his system is any better or any worse than Housley's or Bylsma's for that matter. As a coach you need to be a good salesman, and RK has that ability to sell.... at least it appears that way early one. The players just didn't completely buy into what Housley or Bylsma were selling.

must win -
They skated today. Just want to add that RK hasn't canceled any scheduled practices to date.
-
Awesome! Been saying it for years, game day skates are unnecessary, about time. Should help them stay fresh mentally later in the season.

Nobody cares what you know until they know how much you care.

i refuse to partake in such shenanigans as artificially increasing the number of posts in this thread. it's unethical. period.

Housley just doesn't have a strong enough personality to be a head coach. RK does.
-
He does some things well, this is true. However, for a second line winger, you would hope to find a guy that does those same things well AND has some offensive ability. That said.... in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

bandwagons full, sorry ?

Hockey players typically have a tough time with pull-ups because they have big thick thighs and butts, which accounts for the vast majority of their body weight.... Casey is no exception. That said, how can he not have done a single pull-up?!

....and one disorderly conduct charge for being a giant d-bag.

To me the most encouraging thing about tonight's game was to see just about everyone up and down the lineup get prime scoring chances.... Girgensons, Okposo, Dahlin, Sheary, Skinner, etc, etc, etc.... It wasn't just the Eichel line doing all the heavy lifting offensively. Hope to see it continue. And the defense was challenging PIT players in the neutral zone instead of just conceding the blue line on every rush... gaps were much tighter all over the ice than I've been used to seeing from Sabres hockey the past few years.
-
BUF also had to kill off 3 penalties in the 3rd. I'd rather have McCabe out there for those than Dahlin. He's more experienced, better defensive awareness in his own end, probably stronger physically on pucks and just is in his prime right now. Not worried at all about the minutes for Dahlin.

By chance I'll be in Nashville this weekend for my boy's hockey tournament... Might take in the game if his schedule allows. I'll let everyone know what happened if I go.

Won this at a golf tournament last week. Allen, Darnold and a few others signed it.... was kinda random being out here in socal.
-
I was there. It was fun, they looked like a real hockey team. IIRC Berglund buried an empty netter to seal it. I have a habit of yelling "CHHHEEAAATTEERRSSS!!!!!!" when I'm at a game and the other team takes a penalty. This happened a few times at this particular game and then eventually BUF was called for a penalty and this little old lady behind me leans over and whispers in my ear.... "ccchhhheeeaaatttterrsss".

13 games in Oct, what's a reasonable expectation for number of wins and losses? Away: PIT CBJ ANA LAK SJS NYR DET Home: NJD MTL FLA DAL SJS ARI I'll say 2-4-1 on the road, and 3-1-2 at home.. giving them 13 points. Should beat LAK and DET, maybe get a point from ANA. Some western conf teams at home should find some wins there. Win or lose I really just want to see these guys play hard for Krueger. We should have a pretty good idea early on whether or not they're buying in.

Can somebody explain why they had to send Olofsson and Jok down? I get that they had to get under the cap, but if that's the case, how will they be able to call them back up tomorrow?

Also here's an old post that explains it....
