  1. I think Bear will be available as 9th, Martin probably not. Sabres drafting Bear though, is something I have a hard time believing in. I think they have drafted well the last two years, but I can't figure out if they have any visions when drafting, or do they just pick most skilled player available?
  2. https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/2025-nhl-draft-rankings-top-80-steven-ellis-misa-hagens-schaefer-martone-desnoyers
  3. Those long term projections puts us about 5 milj over the cap. Byram is the one that has to go imo. Finding a new partner for both Dahlin and Power for the rest of the money will be challenging even if we probably can sign Docker for a miljon less than projected. Unless we move Samuelsson and Clifton.
  4. Not much Liiga, mostly with the national teams. I don't think Liiga is good enough nowadays to form players straight to NHLers, there are too many teams there and not enough players to keep up the speed during games. As you wrote, Helenius played hockey with men as very young, he was good enough to take a spot on a top line, good for him. On the other hand there are young players that become Liiga players but there are a lot to still be developed in their game. Now Liiga is not a development league, those young players are learned how to manage and survive, to adapt to tactics so they can be a cost effecient solution, when they should be working on skating and such things.
  5. Agree. No need to rush players to a already young roster. Let them play in the AHL as long as needed. Better they have to fight to earn it and them being that sick and tired of playing in AHL, that they are doing everything they can to get to stay when they get the call.
  6. There was rumours telling that at some point during the season, but I also remember hearing Kreider had some injury issues this season. Hard to know what to believe. A deal with both Kreider and Schneider could be a interesting package if Rangers really want Kreider gone.
  7. Jeannot is interesting, he brings needed toughness. We probably have to overpay, but he still might be cheap enough. Brian Rust is a player I like. If there are plans on playing both Thompson and Norris as C we need another RW. Schneider is a on top of my list of D, he is a perfect partner for Power imo. Zach Whitecload is the other D I think they should target. My big off season prediction is Marner to Vegas, and they need to clear space to make that happen.
  8. My kid is nine and playing hockey, it seems like we are far behind in development 😄
  9. Chaos? Seems like a perfect fit at the front office! Seriously spoken, he seems like a good back up pick if Martin is taken.
  10. I don't think Rosen is the same value as the 9th pick. I just named him as one of the assets I think should be used to upgrade the team before we use our top pick. I don't dislike Rosen, I just can't see him get a roster spot in Buffalo, even If he is a top player in AHL. That puts him on top of my list of players to trade. If a trade can't be done without our 9th. Then trade the pick, I'm not against improving the team, just want whoever completes next trade to try other options first.
  11. It seems he has his playoff mood on. The same way he had in Liiga playoff and Worlds last year. Once he finds his way to keep that "win next shift"-mood going over a whole season he will be a NHLer.
  12. Both Chicago and San Jose has two picks in the first round, would they give them away to choose first?
  13. Agree on that. Might be necessery to trow in a 2nd or a 3rd and a 4th to make a trade including Rosen as interesting as the 9th.
  14. think it depends on what timeline I have to work with. Is it a rebuilding team I take the pick. Otherwise I take a shot on Rosen.
  15. No. But I definitely understand everyone who turns their back on this. A respected NHL franchise has become something that, to me, seems like some weird experiment.
  16. Byram to Penguins in exchange for Bryan Rust. Quinn to Rangers för Braden Schneider. There. I fixed it.
  17. I think it could be wise to keep the pick and in 3-4 years have a player on a cheap contract to hopefully put in the line-up. We have plenty of other assets to trade, like Rosen for example, that will never be roster players for Sabres but might be one on another team.
  18. With Benson and Helenius they might already have started changing culture.
  19. I think what you said about changing culture is the main reason why we should take him.
  20. It is definitely about us. That's why I am so pessimistic 😄.
  21. They are probably trying to find an upgrade over their second line center. And they need a veteran stay at home RHD to replace Savard. Pretty much the same shopping list as Sabres. I honestly can't see many possibilities for us to grab a playoff spot next year when thinking of the five playoff teams from Atlantic. We need one helll of a offseason, and one helll of a season.
  22. Rosen is the player I have in mind also, and pairing him with Clifton is a good idea. Hard to know however how highly teams value an AHL top scorer. Playing good in the Calder playoff might help us. I see Devils as a team that could be interested in Rosen, a swede about same size as Bratt. An upgrade over Samuelsson would be nice. Wonder how San Jose are thinking with Ferraro, do they want to trade him on deadline för pics or could they take on a player signed long term along with a sweetener?
  23. The best way to get a good stay at home RHD might be to trade a decent winger to a team like Devils or Vegas. Are we willing to do that? And in that case who?
  24. My opinion is that it is time to move on from Liiga. Next step should be SHL or Rochester, and I think it is time to fight for a spot in Rochester. But with all the prospects in the system I can also see Sabres trading his rights as a part of a trade for a defensive RHD.
  25. Viljami Marjala has been playing for The Finnish national team in games pre to world championship. He scored a goal against Sweden two days ago. He was dropped of the roster today when other players join instead. Unfortunately I havn't had time to watch any games but playing for the national team this close to WC shows he is developing well.
