  1. Vanish into the shadows. Cannot be discovered..
  2. Remember the board dress code. Trenchcoat, binoculars and darting eyes to spot possible board members before breaking into a sprint to escape detection.
  3. That's called growth. So much more to do, like playing team defense in front of your goalie, instead of floating back after getting caught deep..the norm all too often. Learn that the game film doesn't lie. Opposing players flying down the center of the ice uncovered killed this team. The roster itself is always in some degree of flux when your still a team rising out of the ashes. Fell one game short of a playoff spot but things going "right" suggests we've peaked and must somehow maintain to comepete again. Sabres have so much room for improvement and more youth than most teams with actual upside. No free pass. We'll see if things change but I'm hoping our 2 new Vets on D can stand up and say something in the dressing room about a team needing to play hard in both ends of the rink. Might help our Goaltending worries. Just a hunch..
  4. Further down Elmwood in Kenmore (north of Buffalo) is Mustachios Pizza. Wings are nothing special but their pizza is excellent IMO.
  5. NY Rangers . Marketing. NHL would steer him there. Would love him here.
  6. Getting Rene Robert for Eddie Shack.
  7. Ex-Sabre is his role.
  8. Since the double hip surgery, UPL has never developed. His high point was with Finland in the world juniors years back...pre-surgery. I would look at Comrie or one of the Rochester Goalies over him, if left with those options. There is still time to add.
  9. Obviously Irish..
  10. That was some magic 8-ball.
  11. My cousin just texted me that. Where did that come from ?
  12. We've seen whales there and in California. Just amazing. Hope to do it again someday.
  13. I like winter because I still like to skate. Can't play hockey anymore being in my mid-60's but I never hated the winters like others. Parents had a condo near Ft.Lauderdale for 20+ years in my younger days, so I enjoyed many warm vacations for the price of a plane ticket. Had a great job here until I retired but my wife is several years younger and still teaches. So maybe I'll rent in Florida down the road but it isn't a must. It's still about the lifestyle and keeping busy. All good.
  14. Living locally in Erie County, I feel for the rest of the country. Our weather has recently had a little rain after being bone dry from the beginning of May. I measure weather in how often I can sit outside on my large deck... full of flowers. A running fountain. Music. It's been basically great for weeks and will be part of my daily routine until early October. I wouldn't trade our May-October weather with anyone, after watching all the extreme weather hitting the rest of the country.
  15. I live in the Tonawanda NY area. Wheelers is a bar known for their outstanding pub food and has won local awards for their pizza and wings. I love both. 2nd to none IMO.
  16. In the early morning hours of Friday and Saturday, (usually 5:30-6am until 830 EST) FS2 carries AFL ( Australian Rules Football ) games live from the other side of earth. I find the sport utterly fascinating. It's a thousand times better than any soccer game I've tried to watch.
  17. I've grown weary of family/friends talking about politics. Outside of sports, I watch science and wildlife/nature shows. I can respectfully listen to it for a while, anticipating the onversation will change but it's tiring to hear so many just drone on about how much they dislike a political party. Enough already...
  18. This reminds me of Bottom 5 and his zeal to promote too many kids. Patience.
  19. The prediction by locals 2 months ago was Dahlin gets his big deal and Power gets a 3 year bridge deal with a much bigger deal after that when the cap is bigger. No rush if KA is still looking around the trade market with weeks until camp.
  20. IF he rehabs and is more than ready at the halfway point of the year, then it's silly to pretend he couldn't help the team he grew up watching with his family. I'm not endorsing it but pretending it would surprise some is pure theater.
  21. I saw them at George Mason U. In Virginia. 1989. They were outstanding. Was stationed nearby in the Navy.
  22. Yes, if the trade is UPL, Bryson, a 5th round pick and an unregistered Kia Sportage,
