Ovechkin pursuit of Gretzky career goal record
Night Train replied to gilbert11's topic in The Aud Club
Alex O is 8th all-time in goals per game. Bossy and Lemieux are 1-2. Austin Matthews is 5th. -
Diiggs had his stats early when the Bills were a .500 team. Once they got rolling late with that win streak, it was Kincaid, Shakir, Cook and others. Balance. No one could be keyed on. Kudos to Brady and his play calling that wasn't all about Diggs. Now adding Samuel, some other depth and no doubt a draft choice or 2 at the position. No panic at all in my view. Allen is the Alpha. Media is playing every angle for clicks. Whatever.

Ovechkin pursuit of Gretzky career goal record

I never base raw numbers on who is the greatest in any sport. There is only one Gretzky. Watching him in his prime left little doubt on who is the greatest ever. -
RFA, Ukko Pekka Luukkonen - what would you sign him for?
Night Train replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I find it funny that the above thoughts are 2-3 year bridge $. Yet they give underachieving/turnover prone Power a huge deal way too early. UPL is our MVP. Yes, use caution on overpaying anyone but he's the only one trying many nights. -
Brown was healthy last year after 2 injury prone years. We'll see what the Bills do. Collins rehabbed last year after his injury on the Dallas PS. I think he's more than a camp body. I'll watch what Beane does. He thinks ahead most times. 5 months until games. Depends on what the contract terms are for Brown.

Interesting signing yesterday of 30 year old RT La'el Collins, who has started a lot of NFL games. Spencer Brown looking for a large raise with his rookie deal expiring after 2024. Just me speculating but wonder if Brown could now be dealt. Can't pay everyone. Maybe get something for him now. (Draft pick) Rousseau due a raise after 2024 and CB Douglas needs a new deal. Douglas is priority one, since they traded for him and he's very good at a key position. Rousseau and Brown, not so sure. Rousseau is playing for his future here if he's expecting a big raise. Needs to break out in 2024.

I believe the Tim Graham article spoke volumes. Brady phased him out.

The dead cap hit was already counted for this season, whether Diggs was here or not. Beane has enough space for the draft choices and a little bit more. Can always redo a deal if needed. With Diggs gone and an out for Von Miller after 2024, that frees up 35 Mil in cap space for 2025. The National media is beyond silly with their current clueless hot takes. Social media responses are even worse. Beane is always busy and it's 5 months until kickoff. Many new faces still to come before camp. https://theathletic.com/5387835/2024/04/03/stefon-diggs-trade-bills-texans-attitude/

I never put anything past him. Yet with no 3rd rounder, the trade capital may be lacking, unless you use the extra 2025 2nd from Houston in a package. Day 3 picks galore but teams want more than that.

Why should Granato and the assistants be brought back?
Night Train replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
That's strictly cap ramifications. Pegula isn't paying Diggs at all anymore. I do agree about Granato. -
Buff news just said the cap hit was already figured in this year. Zero next year when Diggs would have counted for 27 Mil in 2025.

Sammy was all about the whirlpool in the trainers room. He wasn't moody. Luckily, it's an insanely deep draft pool for WR's.
-
As stated above, there's more to the story. Brady wasn't using him. They'll draft a WR and move on. Hell of a cap hit next year. Beane will be working hard to balance the books. It is what it is

Our veterans will have to find someone else to golf with.

Grit and leadership. It lacks.. Go back a couple weeks. Sabres 3 points behind their opponent that night, Detroit. Lead after the first and can close the gap to 1. Then they get run over the next 2 periods. Since then, obvious struggles. A win here and there surrounded by a lot of bad games. Long stretches of floating and quitting. Find some players (several) that show up with an edge. Then find some coaching that works on some fundamentals. Puck handling, faceoffs, positioning. Quit playing to the outside and send players to the middle to battle. D-men need to clear out traffic in front of the goalie. Opponents must see this team as soft. Running "it" back is not an option.
