I would be shocked if it played out like this. IMO Clifton was signed to be on the 2nd pairing with Power, and Johnson on the 3rd pair.
-
Is there more than one poster making this point, or just you repeating the same thing over and over?
-
I would have given him one, even two years at that price.
-
I don’t have a “spin”. Just a suggestion and I will move on. You know that is is okay from time to time to take off your “super fan” hat, and be critical. No one will think any less of you. 😉
-
Seriously? You just stated he was hired June 2020. First off the offseason starts each year with FA on July 1. So that is 2020, 2021, 2022, and now 2023. That makes this his 4th off-season. To quote Shawshank Redemption, stop being obtuse.
-
Isn’t this his 4th offseason?
-
4 years and plenty of cap space and assets. Am I asking too much?
-
Absolutely not, and if they miss, KA should be on the hot seat.
-
If the Sabres go with this trio and miss the playoffs because of less than stellar goaltending, are you okay with it?

Sabres sign Defenseman Connor Clifton to 3 year 3.33 AAV Deal

Golden era? One team hasn’t seen the playoffs during his tenure, and the other team throws up all over themselves once there. Still along way to go for both of them before crowning this a “golden era”. -
So you are okay with a guy with a whopping 7 games under his NHL belt, along with one of UPL/Comrie? …or maybe you think Levi is going to play all 82 games?

Huh? 🤔 -
This is actually his 4th chance(summer/offseason) to fix the goaltending position, and doesn’t seem to interested in doing so.
-
I am “excited” to see if his potential poor goaltending strategy, once again, will land him on the hot seat. [edited] Interesting that in that quote, Comrie is not mentioned.
-
I would put some feelers out to see if there is any interest in trading a mid to late round pick for him…especially if you think he would not make it through waivers. I’m guessing at his salary level, no one is claiming him.
-
The Sabres really need another vet in the forward ranks. With Quinn out until who knows when, and VO probably on the way out, 12-13-14 spots are kind of iffy.
-
Stats to back that up? PS He was also a key part of one of the worst PK units in the league.
-
I can hear it now…”we tried…” Guess what….trying is great for 5-6 year olds playing t-ball, not for NHL GM’s.
-
A better goalie will take care of the problem even more.

Way too much for a 1 year rental.
