Lockout is over...you think the NHL Network could run some live programming once a night to provide updates? NOPE!

I have no use for Ellis, and McCormick while he had a great year in 10-11 both in terms of physical play and scoring, sucked last year in all regards. You would think it would be easier to find 4th line guys for the big club who are toiling in the AHL and are just itching for a chance to play with the big boys, and do whatever it takes to stay up here. Tropp would have been that guy, and a guy who has enough skill and could easily move up to the 2nd or 3rd line in a pinch.

Miller(along with Vanek & Pominville) is a UFA after 13-14 season.

My 2 cents on trading Sekera... Regier & Leopold could both be former Sabres come September, and McNabb who many here thought was ready to be an NHLer, has regressed in a big way so far this season in Rochester. That being said, the center position is still a mess for this shortened season unless Grigs is ready to make the jump, and even then they are way too young up the middle with Hodgson, Ennis & Grigs.

I had not watched any of the tourney before waking up this morning to see the last two periods. Great to see the USA kids win, and also to see some hockey! :worthy:

I forgot how much I dislike EJ Hradek. Just looking at him makes me want to reach through the TV and punch him. :D

I've expressed concern about his offensive skill development in different threads. I just hope the offensive side of the game comes along eventually, and not disappears completely because he was in over his head from the day he turn pro.

Whenever I see Housley's name mentioned, I remember Rob Ray saying in an interview a few years ago that Housley was the only teammate he ever hated or hated the most(I'm paraphrasing).

Saw in the Buffalo News that the Sabres would not allow Girgensons to play for Latvia in the WJC. Would it have really killed his already slow development to be away from the Amerks for 2-3 weeks?

The only reason I want to see even a 40 game season at this point...it will take another year off the contracts of Miller & Vanek leaving them with 1 year remaining(13-14). :angel:

I wonder if Rolston is in over his head? Maybe Sabres University needs coaches with experience at the pro level, instead of a guy who was never a head coach of a team consisting of anyone over the age of 17.

Bought a new snowblower last month(high end toro), and not a snowflake to be found. For once, I'm begging for snow to play with my new toy, and instead it is nothing but an expensive insurance policy....sor far. LOL.

I continue to wonder if Rochester is the best place for Girgensons. I'd really like to see him somewhere where he can develop his offensive game. I don't want to see those skills never developed, and then end up with him being a 3rd/4th line center because of it. I don't think they will, but do the Sabres have the option of sending him to the WHL at this point in the season?

What a terrible tragedy for the families of the victims who will never get over this, but also the surviving young children at the school whose parents are now left to try and explain to their children what just happened. My daughter is a freshman at Brockport and was one dorm over from the girl who was killed by her wacko boyfriend in September. I was really shook up by that. Now this. :cry:

I thought McNabb's play with the Sabres last year was extremely overhyped. Made a couple of big hits, somebody starting calling him McNasty, and all of a sudden he was going to be the next coming of Scott Stevens, Scott Niedermayer, and Niklas Lidstrom all rolled into one. Maybe he will end up being a top 4 NHL defenseman, but I think he has a long way to go. As you pointed out, the Sabres have so many blueliners coming up, that it won't take much to get passed on the depth chart.

Neither Tropp or Hodgson were going to be on the Amerks anyways if there was no lockout. Is it the Sabres fault that Mancari who has previously dominated at the AHL level has now decided to SUCK? The only legit complaints I can see is dressing less than the maximum number of players and maybe forgoing ONE of the spots for a youngster getting 4th line AHL minutes in favor of another AHL vet. I thought that kind of "cheapness" was no longer around in the Pegula era.

Whats new in term of Girgensons game? I know he has been putting goose eggs up on the scoresheet, but how has his play been otherwise?
