no clue why Saros signed for so little?? I know he loves TN but he signed for around 70% of his worth

Interesting take. She'll be finishing up her residency this year and be helping people as a doctor for 30+ years probably. Instead, you think she should quit since her husband has made $50m and will retire in a couple of years? Interesting, are we living in the 1950's?

Greenway belongs on the trade block. There's no room for Krebs and possibly no role for Greenway any longer, especially if the trade for another forward.
-
Yep, plus it would look really hypocritical to trade for a player who had the same experimental spinal surgery you held jack over the coals over. Of course, the Sabres do a lot of stupid things, so nothing would surprise me with them
-
$5m/yr coming off the same surgery Eichel had that the Sabres wouldn't approve. Farabee went 26 games without scoring when he came back from the surgery. I don't see the Sabres trading for him. Go trade for a more of a sure thing instead of a maybe

When going to UB, we' go to a restaurant on Bailey on Tuesdays: $5 for a pizza and a pitcher of beer. can't remember the restaurant and neither were great but, $5 for a college student (actually $2.50 if eating with the gf) was great

Extremely good analysis - well thought out

At 18, maybe Helenius grows an inch or two? at 190 pounds now, he'll definitely be over 200 shortly. He's got massive arms already, very unlike most 18 years, which explains why he's held up extremely well vs men. He wasn't really on my radar pre-draft, but, I honestly think they would have taken him at 11 if they kept that pick. The 2 d would have been tempting, but a thick, tough center was more of a need.

pathetic AAV

Obviously 2 different positions. I like Buium a lot, wish he was a bit bigger -

I'm on board with him, which he was a little bigger. Guess, if he was bigger he's go earlier....... -
I agree he has been overly cautious and the UFA's he's signed didn't make any sense. I would think he'd have to be aggressive this offseason, because (a) he's talked of being so, unlike ever before and (b) he job likely rests on the Sabres making the playoffs
-
Yep - agree 100% here, and if we use pick #11, there's probably a 90% chance he's still there. He's one of the most pro-ready prospects (even if he's still 1-2 years away) and the Sabres desperately need players like him. They got one last year in Benson, though, Benson a different type of pest.
-
Agreed- you'd be hard pressed to find another 18 year whos every killed penalties in the NHL. The kid may never be a Point per game player (although he may be) but his intangibles are off the charts

The Sabres should trade the 11th overall pick in the 2024 draft

What's the phone number for Chicago? That article is actually saying to trade a 2nd and a small prospect for Skinner (nothing retained.) Hell yes - i thought we'd be sending the 2nd and a prospect with Skinner for nothing. -
Great write ups!! How about Cole Eiserman? Any others ranked in the top 8, or so, that you think could drop?
-
Yep and I take a bigger/fast receiver later on, even maybe as early as mid 40s with a trade up. Josh isn't an anticipation thrower (doesn't have to be) and Ladd separates better than anybody in the draft. Seems like a perfect fit to me. 28 Ladd 60 Legette, Franklin, Polk, Fla St guy, if any of them fall (or with a trade up); otherwise Walker, Baker would fit nicely
-
so whom are we taking at 11?

UPL has been great since January but in all honesty he was hideous tonight. When the game was close, he let in really bad goals (1,2,4). If he played well, the Sabres might have been up by 2 or 3 goals = different game. Offense was also MIA other than line 1. Not sure why Granato kept sending out the Rousek line,Skinner was MIA and Cozens tries but he's a liability at this point.
-
Would have been nice if they showed up before the third and any forward showed up at all. Problem with this team is (a) coaching and (b) they have guys in their lineup that our borderline useless and no threat at all offensively: Krebs, Jost, Robinson, Bryson, Clifford, Oloffson. That's 6 guys that shouldn't even be in the NHL must rather playing meaningful minutes and that's on Adams. Most of our forwards (Skinner, Peterka, Oloffson), are soft - hit them and they disappear. Skinner was MIA today. Not sure the power play got a SOG
-
22 or so sOG is a poor effort in a must win game. The 3rd UPL goal was weak, but, Dahin screened him for no reason. Same Sabres to a certain point, getting hopes up high then failing. BUT this team is much better with Bo on it. The fact Granato had Robinson, Jist, oloffson, and Krebs playing meaningful minutes is ridiculous. Maybe the GM will realize this offseason that it's not acceptable to have another offseason with the UFa signings being Clifton, Johnson, Jost, Girgensons and Okposo. Absolutely terrible GMing last offseason.
-
why did we get two penalties on the Benson penalty play? Granato get an unsportsmanlike call? I seem to be in the minority here in saying that shouldn't have been a call on Benson. Montour interfered with benson, causing him to fall into the FLA player. Should have been a non-call. Refs were horshat again.
-
very solid win, still would like to see the scorers score, but a win is a win. On a side note, maybe we haven't "earned" proper calls from referees if that is something to be earned....but the refereeing, was pathetic. In the last 10 minutes, 2 calls were made vs. Dahlin in which weren't penalties by Dahlin and could have been easily called vs. Carolina. The the same referee who made both calls, ignored the blatant slash on Greenway and the trip on UPL in OT? Are these guys graded and held accountable?
